Louise I. Falcone Earl, 82, of Union Mills Road, Town of Providence, died Thursday morning, February 26, 2009 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Norwich, Ct. on September 5, 1926, a daughter of Samuel and Florence Pearson Falcone and moved to Amsterdam as a child. Louise attended St. Mary's School and later graduated from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1944. She lived in the town of Providence for 52 years.
Mrs. Earl was employed at the former Barkersville Infirmary for fourteen years and later at the Wells House in Johnstown for four years. She retired in 1986 as a certified nursing assistant.
Louise was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Broadalbin and was a devout Catholic.
She was a charter member of the Galway and Providence Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Louise was married to Howard R. Earl on July 28, 1945. He died on May 22, 2000. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Jamie Burton, who died on January 10, 2006 and Janet M. Mann, who died on June 27, 2006; a sister, Shirley Sorbero; and a brother, Samuel Falcone.
Survivors include a son, Daniel G. (Nita) Earl of Broadalbin; four daughters, Constance Bollen of Broadalbin, Christine (Joseph) Antle of Cape Coral, FL, Laurie (Barry) Lewis of North Fort Myers, FL, and Paula (Sergio) Orozco of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Patricia Bracchi of Amsterdam, and Mary Jean Buck of Ontario, Canada; four brothers, John Falcone of Norfalk, VA, James Falcone of Belmaur, NJ, George Falcone of Stanford, N.Y., and Peter Falcone of Zephyrhills, FL; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 38 West Main Street, Broadalbin, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 7 North Street, with Rev. Thomas Morrette, officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Union Mills Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Joseph's Church, in care of the funeral home.
