Edward V. Murphy Jr., 90 of Johnstown died Friday Jan 9 at Wells House Nursing Home, Johnstown. Born August 20, 1918 in East Springfield, NY. He was the son of Edward & Florence Gill Murphy Sr. He graduated from East Springfield High School. Edward was a Machinist at the American Locomotive Company and a Foreman at the Walter Motor Truck Company. He was of Catholic Faith. Edward was married to the late Ruth E. Paquin whom he married Nov 3, 1944 and she died Jan 11, 2008. He is survived by 2 Sons Keith Murphy of Galway, Sean Murphy of Scotia. 3 Daughters Kathleen Marcais & her husband David of Fonda, Michele Materese and her husband Ronald of Endwell and Sr. Margaret Murphy of Peru, South America. Brothers William Murphy of East Springfield, NY, Leo Murphy of Seattle WA, Joseph Murphy of Orlando, FL., Sisters Sr. Mary Theresa Murphy of Latham, NY. and Ann Murphy of East Springfield, NY .6 Grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Thursday at St. Anthony's Church Johnstown. Calling Hours will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, Johnstown. Cremation will be in Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Health Center 2-8 W. Main St. Johnstown or Wells Nursing Home 201 W. Madison Ave. Johnstown.
