Gary Steven Simek

Gary Steven Simek, 57, of Gloversville, NY, died Monday, December 1, 2008, following a long illness. He was born on August 12, 1951, in Gloversville, NY, the son of the late Richard and Mary Lou Shepard Simek.

He attended Gloversville Schools and was employed as a foreman for Vendetti Construction in Schenectady, retiring due to ill health.

Gary enjoyed sports and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife, Janet Sweet Simek; two sons, Erick Simek, of Gloversville, and Duane Simek, of Wells; one brother, Aaron Simek, of Johnstown; and one sister, Tina Tabin, of Johnstown. Five grandchildren and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive him.
