Couple celebrates 50th wedding anniversary

Charles and Priscilla Curthoys of Gloversville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at a surprise dinner party at the Union Hall Inn, Johnstown. The party was given by their three children, Michael (Laura) Curthoys of Clifton Park, Saratoga County, Susan (Stephen) Burbage of Wayland, Mass. and Jennifer (David) Connolly of Gloversville, who hosted the event for the family and friends.

There were more than 40 guests who attended from Gloversville, Johnstown, Canajoharie, the Capital District, Lake George, Warren County and New York City. Priscilla (Parker) Curthoy's sister, Susan (Parker) Moor, the original bridesmaid; brother, Donald Parker, the original ringbearer; and sister, Cindy (Parker) Martin, the original flower girl, attended to re-enact the ceremony that took place at St. Mary's Church, Troy, Rensselaer County, 50 years ago.

Priscilla Curthoys, originally of New York City, is retired as the customer service manager of the Grandoe Corp.
