By MIKE ZUMMO, The Leader-Herald

L.B. McCloskey (Gloversville) made three tackles and recorded his fourth career interception, which helped to seal the University at Albany football team's 33-23 win over Duquesne.

The interception set up a fourth-quarter touchdown.

McCloskey made one tackle in the Great Danes' win over Central Connecticut State in their home opener and has eight tackles, five solo. He also has two passes defended and one break-up.

Jane Burroughs (Fonda-Fultonville) tied a State University of New York Institute of Technology women's soccer record, scoring three goals in the Wildcats' 8-0 win over Wilson College.

Burroughs' hat trick left her with 12 goals on the season, which tied her with Marsha Ridgeway for the most goals in a season by a SUNY IT player.

She also had two assists in the game and has 27 points this season, placing her second-all time in that category. She is four points off the SUNY IT school record.

Burroughs attempted to break the season-goals record in Tuesday's home game against Cazenovia.

Jenna McIntosh (Johnstown) had an assist helping the University of Massachusetts-Lowell women's soccer team to an overtime upset of No. 15 Franklin Pierce Oct. 7.

McIntosh, a junior defender, who transferred from Monroe Community College, has appeared in all 12 games for the River Hawks. She has a goal and an assist for three points.

Tom Montano (Gloversville) had four tackles in the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's 27-17 win over Rochester Oct. 4.

Through four games, Montano has 24 tackles, including nine unassisted stops. He's also broken up one pass.

Also on the team is Jordan Ramirez (Amsterdam), a freshman tight end.

Brett Radley (Dolgeville) recovered a fumble, which set up a touchdown in the Hartwick football team's 24-19 win over Alfred Saturday.

The win snapped the Hawks' five-game losing streak to Alfred.

Radley is a junior tight end and his brother, Brian is a junior quarterback on the team.

Brett Radley has appeared in four games and caught two passes for 44 yards, while Brian has appeared in two games.

Steve Richtmyer (Mayfield) has appeared in goal in five games for the Delaware Valley College men's soccer team.

In 156 minutes, he has made nine saves and allowed two goals for an .818 percentage.

Stacy Krom (Amsterdam) made seven saves in 80 minutes as the Elmira College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Utica Sunday.

Brendan McKee (Amsterdam) posted an 80 for the Elmira men's golf team to finish in a tie for 20th at the Bent Creek Invitational in Litiz, Pa. helping Elmira to a sixth-place finish.

Kate Holland (Johnstown) shot a 193 for the Nazareth women's golf team, which placed seventh at the Williams Fall Classic.
