The Rev. Wayne E. Jones Sr. passed away peacefully on September 14, 2008, at his home in Johnstown, NY.

Senior Pastor of the Foothills United Methodist Church in Gloversville since 2001, he is survived by his loving wife Elaine of 44 years. A supportive and inspiring father of four sons, Wayne Jr., Todd, Craig and Kevin; and three daughters-in-law Lynn, Ann-Marie and Melissa; he was the beloved grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Andy, Meghan, Erin, Kathleen, Stephen, Eric, Lela, Rebecca, Ryan, Travis and Cameron. He is survived by his sister, Doris Brown of Castleton, VT; numerous cousins in Vermont, Massachusetts, New York and close family in Wales, UK. A 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and committed Rotarian, he served his community, family and friends generously with both his time and talent throughout his life.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY on Wednesday, September 17, from 4-7 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 18, at 11 a.m. at the Foothills United Methodist Church in Gloversville. Interment will take place at Riverhurst Cemetery in Endicott, NY. Memorial Donations may be made to the Foothills United Methodist Church Building Fund, 17 Fremont St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
