Fall outdoor show set for September
GLOVERSVILLE - The fall edition of the Adirondack Outdoorsman Show will take place Saturday and Sept. 14 at the Concordia Club pavillion and grounds from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. both days.
The show will be geared towards the tastes of hunters, fisherman and outdoors enthusiasts.
Exhibits containing items for sale pertaining to: hunting and fishing gear/supplies, guns, archery, trapping, boating, camping, hiking, snow shoeing, guides and charter services, taxidermy, snowmobiling, collectable knives, antique hunting and fishing gear, wildlife art and books and Adirondack art and furniture.
The event has been expanded to allow new vendors, as well as seminars by industry experts and hunting and fishing demonstrations throughout the clubs grounds the entire weekend.
The show also will host a 30-Station 3-D archery shoot with three classes and cash prizes, The Adirondack Art Show with featured artist Karen W. Hauser, Iditarod dog racing demonstrations by the Outlaw Dog Sled Team, a display featuring the mounts of every upstate New York record freshwater game fish, outdoor activities and learning demonstrations for children (compliments of NYS DEC), a trout pond, rock climbing wall, fly tying and fly casting demonstrations, a blacksmith forging steel knives, upland hunting demonstrations with cocker spaniels, book signings by authors Don Williams (author of 9 ADK books), Donald Wharton (author of "Adirondack Forest & Stream"), Robert Elinskas (author of "A Deer Hunter's History Book"), Spider Rybaak (author of "Fishing Eastern New York" and "Fishing Western New York"), and Randall Gilbert (author of "Deer Hunting A-Z" and his newest book "Whitetail Woods").
Also on hand will be writers Ron Kolodzie and Ed Noonan, two of only seven New York hunters to hold the coveted World Slam Title for Turkeys.
New to the event will be Rob Streeter, author of "Warmwater Fly-Fishing."
A record display of whitetail deer mounts, and search and resue demonstrations by the 5-1 Seach & Rescue Team also are planned.
