Charles W. Sweet

Charles W. Sweet, 82, of Gloversville, died Thursday evening at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Gloversville, May 25, 1926, he was the son of Charles and Marguerite Dukes Sweet. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked as the manager of the former Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Amsterdam and Gloversville for many years. Mr. Sweet was an avid photographer and was a member of the Kingsboro Camera Club. On January 21, 1951, he married the former Beverly Frederick, who died in 2000. He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Sweet of Caroga Lake and Christine Michaels of Gloversville. Friends may call Sunday from 11-12 PM at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main St. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
