Smith registers win in 250cc expert class

CAROGA LAKE - Five area riders picked up first-place finishes at Wednesday's Monster Supercross event at Royal Mountain.

Mayfield's B.J. Smith won the 250cc expert class with Gloversville's Adam Handy and Burton Wilson taking second and third.

Fort Plain's Zackery Kollar won the mini 60 division and Canajoharie's James Stowell was first in the quad expert class with Palatine Bridge's Dustin Watson coming in third and Fort Plain's Rick Anderson taking fifth.

Gloversville's Jesse Dutcher won the quad novice class and Erik Rorick took second.

Johnstown's Kyle Pollak won the 80-plus 10-15-year-old division and Andrew Duesler, of St. Johnsville, came in second.

Kollar was second in the mini 80 9-11-year-old division and Clayton Blowers was fifth in the plus-30 expert division. Fort Plain's Trevor VanAlstyne was second in the 250cc amateur class and Gloversville's Michael Hart was fifth.

Gloversville's Brandon Handy was second in the 50cc junior stock 4-6-year-old division and Fonda's Tyler Blowers was fourth.

Johnstown's Makail N. Mabbett took second in the 50cc senior stock 7-8-year-old class with Johnstown's J.T. Vietri coming in third.

Amsterdam's John Reale was second in the quad amateur division with Broadalbin's Dan Sawyer coming in third.

Johnstown's Joey Morrison was second in the open amateur division and Hart was fourth. Gloversville's Burton Wilson and Joshua Wilson were second and third in the open expert class with Johnstown's Jason Morrison taking fourth.

Johnstown's Austin Debell III was third in the 250cc novice class and Northville's Daniel Ashcroft was fourth in the mini 80 12-15-year-old division.

Burnham (Corinth), Cole Fredericks (Little Falls), Josh Gelber (Cobleskill), Richard Westfall (Lakeland, Fla.), Edward Quimby IV (Cherry Valley), Marvin Dygert (Cherry Valley), Nick Fratine (South Glens Falls), Jeff Clark (Ballston Lake), Ricky Renner (Mulberry, Fla.), Tyson C. Fernandez (Lewis) and Austin Morse (Ballston Lake).
