John R. "Jack" Davis, age 57, of Gloversville, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at his home, after a long illness.
He was born in Gloversville on January 20, 1951, a son of the late Richard M. Davis and Ann Rese.
Mr. Davis was a 1969 graduate of Gloversville High School. He then received his associate's degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College in 1973 and a Bachelor's degree in 1975 from Plattsburgh State University.
Jack was employed at the New York State Children and Family Services (Tryon) for 23 years until he retired due to illness.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Graham Davis, whom he married December 27, 1987; one daughter, Bayley Davis of Gloversville; two brothers, Richard Davis of Mayfield and Michael Davis of Johnstown; his stepfather, Robert Barbuti of Amsterdam; one stepbrother, Robert Barbuti Jr. of Perth; three stepsisters, Joyce Russi of Latham, Robin Brino of Glenville, and Joann Roff of North Greenbush; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Friends and family may call today (Thursday) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
