JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville man who pleaded guilty in connection with a series of burglaries at city churches was sentenced Wednesday in Fulton County Court to four to eight years in state prison.
Michael W. Johnson, 30, of 11 6th Ave., Gloversville, was sentenced by Judge Polly A. Hoye. His sentencing as a second-time felony offender was based on his May 30 guilty plea to two counts of third-degree burglary.
He also was ordered to pay restitution to some of the churches.
Gloversville police arrested Johnson Feb. 1 in connection with burglaries at Foothills United Methodist Church, North Main Street United Methodist Church, Kingsboro Assembly of God, Seventh Adventist Church and the First Presbyterian Church.
