Two locals charged in major drug bust
POSTED: June 12, 2008
ALBANY — Two local men were among the 19 people arrested in a major drug bust state authorities announced Wednesday.
Earl Jameison, 45, of Division St., Gloversville, and Christopher Flint, 29, of Hickory Hill Road, Fonda, were arrested for their alleged involvement with drug rings operating out of Schenectady and Albany counties.
State police Lt. Michael Tietz said Flint purchased large quantities of cocaine from the Schenectady operation.
Jameison was a “drug mule” or courier, Tietz said.
The two men knew each other and acted as co-conspirators, he said.
The state police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, working with local police departments in the capital region, seized approximately $1.7 million in drugs from the organizations in Schenectady and Albany.
More than 19 pounds of cocaine and 140 pounds of marijuana were confiscated.
“This is one of the largest seizures of cocaine we have had in years,” Tietz said.
The case is being prosecuted by the state Attorney General’s Organized Crime Task Force.
