Retirement event for Whelan planned

JOHNSTOWN — The Greater Johnstown School District’s Central Council PTA will host a retirement reception for Superintendent John Whelan on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Johnstown High School in the small cafeteria.

Whelan will be honored for his nine years of service as superintendent.

The May Central Council meeting will follow.
