Bill worked for the family auto repair and car wash business, lived and worked in the Gloversville, NY area in the mid-’60s and later, after moving to the Detroit area, became a mason contractor in the Detroit area. He was a member of Laborers’ Local No. 806 in Detroit. He resided at the Blue Water Area YMCA for over 10 years where he worked in maintenance and landscaping. He loved fishing and gardening.
He is survived by two daughters, Tina Marie Stupke of San Diego, CA and Tonja Jean Stupke of Bartonsville, PA; grandchildren, Amberlee Marie Neel and Jeremy Robert Neel of Santee, CA and Tarra Jean Stupke of San Diego, CA; Steven Martin Pasciak and Wesley Scott Pasciak of Stroudsburg, PA; a brother, Robert Gilbert Stupke of Grass Valley, CA; a sister, Beverly Jean DeChiro of Gloversville, NY; half brothers, David John Stupke of Encinitas, CA, Matthew Murray Stupke of Upland, CA, Karl Vincent Stupke of San Dimas, CA; half sisters, Katheryn Mary Morris of Couer D-Alene, Idaho, Karen Irene Poague of San Dimas, CA, Lois Madge Summers of Apache Junction, Arizona; adopted brother, Mahlon (Denny) Collar of Phelan, CA; several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was also predeceased by is stepmother, Reta Madge Smith Stupke of San Dimas, CA; and stepsister, Teresa Vandewalker Belke of Newport, OR.
There was a memorial gathering on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Smith Family Funeral Home in Port Huron, MI. Final rest will be in Hope Falls Valley in the Adirondack Mountains, Northville, NY.
