What a JOKE!!!! The good ole boy network is alive and well!!! The stupidvisors should be ashamed of themselves in this hire!!! And we wonder why we can't keep our young qualified people around here. How old is he?? How long will he be in that position..is this just to help his pension out?? Come on Leader Herald..go after this travesty!!!

so Callery works to get tax breaks and incentives for Fage as a supervisor and then down the road he gets a cushy job with them? WOW, that should be investigated and him getting a benefit in exchange for getting them benefits...isn't that somewhat questionable to say the least?

TIN,. I've worked hard to get my kids to understand why they need to get the*****out of here as soon as they can. There is NO future here for young folks. This just reinforces that feeling.

here are the job duties, SOMEONE please tell me how he qualifies for this position IN ANY WAY:

The Director of Weights and Measures shall have the power to appoint such deputies, assistants, and employees of the Department as may be necessary to perform the duties of the office of Director and as shall be authorized by the County Legislature. Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, the Director of Weights and Measures shall have all the powers and perform all the duties now or hereafter conferred or imposed by law upon a Director of Weights and Measures. The powers and duties of the Director shall be to:

(a) Inspect, test, and ascertain, as frequently as prescribed by the State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets, if weights and measures, weighing and measuring devices and systems, and accessories related thereto, which are used commercially by any person, firm, or corporation, are correct and being used correctly;

(b) Weigh, measure, and inspect packaged commodi

(b) Weigh, measure, and inspect packaged commodities kept, offered, or exposed for sale, sold, or in the process of delivery, to determine whether such packages contain the amounts represented and whether they are kept, offered, or exposed for sale in accordance with state law;

(c) Exercise all the powers and duties as authorized by law of the office of Director of Weights and Measures; have access to all places of business, buildings or premises; and stop any vendor or dealer whatsoever for the purpose of making proper inspections and tests.

The Director shall also perform such other and related duties as may be required by the County Legislature, provided such duties deal primarily with services designed to aid and protect the consumer.

I really am not qualified to be The Director of Weights and Measures, but I DID spend last night at a Holiday Inn Express.

What a travesty. No wonder they are called the Stupidvisors...........But watch these morons get re-elected again and again.

There is one more piece to this story...Mr Daley's pay when he retired after 17 years, was less than what they are giving their cronie to start!! This really REEKS and shows the arrogance of our STUPIDVISORS!!
