I am upset that Tim Horton's is gone now. There's more than enough Stewarts Shops in the area. No more Tim Horton's though.

TOT: Yes, the money would come from the customers, no question. Yes there are those who get advancement in their jobs fairly rapidly. In order to do this in the retail field, you have to be pleasant to the customers and obnoxious to your subordinates. Been there, had supervisors in the retail industry that treated me like dirt under their feet. You matter how much you did, it was not enough. Its a sad fact, but thats how you get ahead. Ask that 9 year clerk in St. Johnsville who was fired over giving her 10 cent discount to a regular disabled customer when he was a little short of money. Ask that person in Broadalbin who was fired for stealing when she was not. It was later discovered that she was not by the company, but can you imagine the humiliation she went through? She was offered her job back, but had found something else. And there was what my wife went through. I won't go into detail, but it was nasty. No, I have no use for this organization.

So Knickman. where would Stewart's get that other half if not from the customers? I believe that the customer is the source for almost all revenue. Stewart's is an excellent place for advancement, I have heard of employees going from sales clerk to management in a short time.

Yes they throw a party, I went to one with my wife, not that great. Made a nice big tax deduction for them just like the holiday match. They match customer donations, but guess what, the customers paid the other half ,too through the price of the products bought there. And here again, Stewarts took a tax deduction.

That one place I won't visit. I do not patronize Stewarts period. Yes they have a fine array of products and are very good at marketing. But they don't have a clue on how to treat their employees. They mistreated my wife. Also the pending litigation about not paying staffers for all hours worked and failure to pay for laundering of required uniforms. Its amazing that the general public continues to patronize such outfits.
