Really? So glad i don't live in the city. The creek has flooded for years. Here is a hint, don't build near creeks.

Wait until the Town of Johnstown annexes the lands between Walmart and Route 29 and that land farmland and forest is all developed. The flooding problems that occur now will be greatly exacerbated as the landscape changes from greenspace to roads and buildings. Developers will profess that their "design" will mitigate flooding, but it won't, it will actually increase the frequency, magnitude and duration of flooding to downstream areas such as Comrie Creek.

These folks are liars , fools or both.. Those houses were there before they bought them and when they flooded before the property would have been marked flood zone right on the deed.. You can't get a mortgage without flood insurance if part of the structure is within a flood zone and even if they paid cash it has to be disclosed.. They should have had flood insurance from day one and not ***** about it after the fact

To gville70, we are liars huh? I invite you to come to my house when we get the big rain storms and sit in my basement. In fact, as I write this, my basement is like a river. So, if you are going to call me a liar you need to check your facts. My deed did not say anything about this house being in a flood zone and when I bought the house 11 years ago the owner said it was a dry basement, which was a lie. I did have to get flood insurance when I got my mortgage and thankfully, they took care of the issues the water caused. So, I take great offense to your name calling and your know it all attitude, because you DON'T know it all and really don't seem to have a clue. So,go back in your little corner of the world and pay attention to the issues you have in Gloversville, as this really doesn't pertain to you.
