MrBob: it's all shell game. But thanks for reminding me about my shortcomings. I am truly surprised that you don't run for public office ... I believe you could do a great job in correcting how things are going.

Both are taxed way too much. Handy Andy has a long way to go before he stems the exodus. I see many people of moderate means tossing in the towel and heading to less taxed states.

Ann - Unlike the liberals that post on here, I make sure I have a valid source for my postings. Go the Albany Business Review article of April 3. there is a link there to the data. California isn't even in the top 5.

Fedup0416 I beg to differ. I think with property, city, town and income, California has the highest rate. Prop 13 keeps property taxes low, but income is especially high. But the hidden taxes are all the permits and licenses one must get to do anything in that state. Like NY, California's wealth is leaving to do business in friendlier states.

NYS is the highest taxed state in the US. We are at 12.6% between state and local taxes. And these politicians walk around with their chests pumped out like they accomplished something by getting an on time budget. Isn't that their job? And the lemmings in the Democratic Party will fall for this charade and vote them all back in. North Carolina is calling me! At least down there the lazy pajama pants crowd don't get so much of my money. You wonder why our kids don't come back after college?

Libs are so easily fooled. Adkkev, would you explain to all of us how it's possible to have a 'balanced budget' using the Government accounting trick called Baseline Budgeting? That gimmick cannot be used in the Private Sector or Household budgets...EVERYONE would bankrupt and have mountains of debt. Does that even remotely sound familiar to you?

Hey this is still over tax and way overspend NYS, this years budget does nothing to reduce spending and in my opinion kicks the debt forward instead of spending it down.
