Please, let's not give Dr. Michel that much credit!

Why does every school district need a Superintendent? Lake Pleasant Piseco & Wells, Northville, Mayfield & Broadalbin Perth, Amsterdam & Fonda, Gloversville, Johnstown & Wheelerville... Consolidate and save the tax payers some cash. Some of the Superintendents make 5 & 6 figure saleries for doing what?

?? Shrubbs...Not sure if you misinterpreted what I said? I'm definitely not advocating a M'field/Northville sch district consolidation, especially given the tax rate differential. I am strongly in favor however of possibly consolidating services, especially in the area of administration, business offices etc..

Please don't start that again. That's like trying to cook an egg without a pan.

Mayfield and N'ville could have 1 superintendent.

The state (and county) my son's family lives in has ONE county school superintendent: each high school in the county(3) has a principal & vp who report to the Super; there is ONE building supervisor for every TWO grade schools. Needless to say, this is not in regulation-happy NYS. Btw, his annual school tax for the house and 2 acres is 1/3 less than my house and postage stamp lot back here. Yes, we're leaving NYS as soon as we can.

Don't hire more superintendants in fact get rid of the ones the local districts have now. I think Patrick Michel would do a fine job running them all. Think of the money that could be saved.

I can do it!

I can do nothing, raise taxes, shut down advanced placement courses, screw the unions and pad my big fat retirement just like they've been doing in the area for years!

Please!!! Take me!!! I'll even give you a kickback to make it fair and outsource technology to whoever you want!

Just find the ones who wear old suits - maybe they won't be so hard on the tax payers.
