Look at the history of community forums the boe held before finalizing the decision. And regarding the ignorant letter to the editor the other day, this WAS a community decision, and like all community decisions it was not unanimous. Just because you disagree, do not start pointing fingers. As far as retirees this year, perhaps the total re-tooling of education as we know it, or maybe they were just at retirement age, or maybe the retirement incentive that expires shortly also played into the decision. To make a group-think accusation like that (ALL are retiring due to grade level grouping) is also ignorant.

The teachers' union has nothing to do with this! They don't want this! As a matter of fact, more teachers are retiring this year because of this grade-level grouping. And many more can't wait to get out. This is an administrative and board decision, not a teachers' union decision. Yes, it will be a mess.

Part of the multi-year plan to shut down another school, and thanks to the teacher union we all have to be a part of the charade. You'll see, costs exceed estimates, taxes go up, kids missing the bus. You know the drill. I feel sorry for the kids.
