March 12, 2014

March 31 may be a significant — and very expensive — date in your life. Don’t know why? That is not unusual. Tens of millions of Americans do not, according to public opinion polls....

Hey that reminds me. GREADER says he/she saved $2500 when they signed up through Obamacare but never responded with the details. Still waiting GREADER - I would love to know the old insurance you had and the new one and the deductibles on each. I WONT HOLD MY BREATH FOR A RESPONSE!

Remember in November, we can get rid of this Obamanation of a piece of legislation. For every person who benefits there are 10 getting screwed.

It has been my experience in life that whenever the government gets involved in something the prices go up. Look no further than housing, education, and food.

This editorial is a waste of time. People who are not aware of the deadlines and detials of Obamacare are probably not reading the newspaper or watching any other type of media outlet. Obamacare and its terms and conditions have been in the headlines for months. you may not like it. you may not agree, but it is currently the law. Therefore you can comply or choose not to. if you opt to civilally disobey good for you, but you are still going to pay... Good luck is an adequate title. We taxpayers are going to feel the brunt of this no matter if they (medicaid recipeints) sign-up or not. when the poor go to the emergency room for a cold, the taxpayers get the bill. Obamacare doesn't address this

I am so very surprised that really NOBODY has signed up. The few million that have are either the deadbeats or the ones that were forced there by OBAMACARE canceling their insurance. Many of those millions have not paid for the policy as when they got the quote they realized that they had to PAY! A lot thought that they would get free healthcare... nothing and I do mean not a single thing in life is FREE!

This law has been modified by "executive order" so many times it's hard to tell what will happen. One of the less advertised provisions is a "hardship clause" that you can declare if you can't afford to buy a new policy. The same people will still wander into the ERs and DEFY authorities not to treat them . . . just call the ACLU and an ambulance chaser lawyer and DEMAND compensation for "pain & suffering" also for any others with them . . . Obamacare does nothing to solve those issues because the lawyers lobbied against anything that might cut them out.

Galvin, those people you referred to are called 'low information voters' and only vote for whichever Santa Claus has the biggest bag for them....and the march, toward Single Payer Government Health Care, goes on.

I'm considering renouncing my Citizenship and refusing to leave America thereby becoming an illegal alien eligible for all the benefits I'm denied as a Citizen, like free healthcare.

MrBob: illegals don't get free healthcare. That being said, hospitals cannot turn away anyone for EMERGENCY coverage, even if they're uninsured or undocumented. This has been the law well before the ACA. Illegals don't get welfare nor do they get food stamps.

adkkev, what they qualify for at the emergency room is emergency care. EXACTLY what they should get. What they get from Obamacare at a price is the luxury of all medical benefits. Just like those that work and pay for themselves... without the hassle of seeking employment.

PLUS Obama is encouraging illegals to apply for the ACA and is telling them that the information provided to obtain insurance will not be used to deport them! So they do qualify for health insurance. I believe that they will also get food by EBT... they would not be allowed to starve!

What an ignorant editorial, worthy of a fourth grader. There is no such thing as "Obamacare insurance". This stupid editorial isn't worth responding to, and the Leader Herald should be ashamed of publishing such drivel.

TiredOfTax, I'm really getting tired of your racist comments. The illegal aliens that are in this country work harder than you and most Americans will ever do. Illegals are here to work and provide for their families. George Bush was correct in his comments that illegals work as migrant farm workers and other menial jobs that most Americans will not.

ADKman, for something that's not worth responding to you sure have a lot to say, even though it's utter nonsense. But that's ok, tell us more about that alternate universe you and adkkev live in. Chime in if you feel the need adkkev, your childish naivete is always entertaining and welcome.

ADK - If an individual is not happy with preferential treatment which illegals receive, that is not racist.

PATRIOT1: Of course it is racist. You obviously have not read the liberal's guide to demonizing and deflecting. You see it is racist to question the policies of Obama, it is sexist question the honesty of Hillary Clinton but it is perfectly acceptable to question Marco Rubio, Tim Scott and to call Sarah Palin all sorts of names. You see the liberals are a touchy bunch when it comes to someone questioning them, but have no issue calling Tim Scott an Uncle Tom (S Carolina NAACP), Sarah Palin a moron (See Mike Barnacle, the plagiarist, for that quote) or George Bush a loser (See Harry Reid on the floor of the Senate 2006). Their double standard is so obvious that it is very difficult to take their comments seriously. Especially the left wingers on here. Review their responses. They never respond to a direct question and they never actually defend their side. They criticize the other side but will not defend their own policies. It is laughable.

Cont - But remember, the left owns Obamacare, the 17 trillion deficit, the economy, the lack of jobs, the employment participation rate, the foodstamps growth and a foreign policy that makes us long for Jimmy Carter. The Florida results proved that. Get ready for November!! The left will become as irrelevant as the Green Party!!

FULL OF IT – you are so kind to point out what the progressives “own”, now tell us what the future would look like with righties in power? What do you stand for? What is your answer to 50 million people without health insurance? You have had 5 years to develop an alternative to the ACA – so what’s your plan? What would you do with Putin – another 5 trillion in a futile war? What has the right done to improve jobs in this country? How much more do we need to give the 1% in tax breaks so the rest of the country can hope for a trickle down? You say we are weak in foreign policy and then condemn the use of drones. You show people in ads complaining about the ACA and then the truth comes out that they are saving over $1,000 a year. The liars and deceivers are in your court and calling Sara Palin a moron isn’t an insult, it’s holding a mirror up and showing conservatives how stupid they were for considering her for the VP!

BEUNREALISTIC: I read your post a couple times and did not see where you defend your President on the fine job he has done with the poverty level, the numbers of people now on welfare/foodstamps, the dismal labor participation rate or defend Obamacare as the solution to healthcare. I know why you ramble on about others. It is the classic Saul Alinsky trick to deflect when you have no defense. If I had a record like that, I would talk about anything but that record. Thanks for helping prove my point. - One other thing - When we elect a Conservative as President in 2016, do we get to blame Obama for six years? I can't wait!! You own the last six years. Either stand up for it and defend that record or run away- either way, we win!

FedUp, I too have fun using Alinski against them. While they might know how to apply those tactics, they never learned how to defend against them. The end result is always the same; You're a *&*@#'ing........fill in the blank.

You better hope the next GOP ticket doesn't include another Paul Ryan type. If the Republican Party again can't figure out from which way the wind is blowing they deserve to lose. If they do figure it out and lighten up on their positions, Romney will be in the White House in '16. A hard-line conservative will never again garner the votes needed to win the presidency. Sorry BoB, TOT, Fedup, Fedex, Scarecrow and Druggy, wherever he may be.

Chris Matthews is already bracing for a disappointing November for Democrats, and he sees little that can be done to change that outcome.

“It’s going to be very hard to hold the Senate — I think the Senate goes,” he said on Morning Joe on Thursday. “I think we heard from the Ghost of Christmas Future this week; they’re going to lose the Senate,” he added, referring to Republican David Jolly’s victory Tuesday in Florida’s special congressional election.
