When in the military,I was eligigable for food stamps, we had to pay into the the GI Bill to get the college after. those who could'nt afford to pay into it got no benefits. An Illegal alian on welfare with one child makes over $500.00 a mo. MORE than a disabled 13 Yr. Veteran. My wife must make $850000.00 per mo to just get by.now they want to give them free tuition ? Perspective.

Lately it seems that in NYS to get a college education for free you need to be either a prisoner or an illegal alien. All the while legal residents and law abiding citizens cannot afford to send their own kids to college. Someone somewhere is quite backwards.

I am mystified as to where all these $$ are coming from all of sudden. Just a couple of years ago this same governor was telling us that the sky was falling. Now it appears that the state, at least in his eyes, has money to burn. Seems like he should be focusing on reducing state mandates that create overwhelming burdens on localities, which in turn would probably reduce property taxes, etc. But then I have to look at it from his perspective; these mandates create burdens on UPSTATE localities & he could care less about them, upstate NY doesn't matter to him.
