If only Gloversville's counterparts in Amsterdam would learn from this & actually try to solve their problems instead of continually making excuses for how they happened & then trying to ignore them long enough that they'll miraculously go away.

It is sad to say, what this Mayor and council need is, advice on working together for the betterment of this once proud city and its citizens! The dog and pony show that keeps getting replayed over and over at city hall is an embarrassment to all who work hard and pay their taxes here. Until there is cooperation and a willingness to work together even through agreeing to disagree, the situation in Gloversville is bleak as it pertains to its financial situation, improving downtown and attracting new businesses to Gloversville! So if the mayor continues says 2 plus 2 equals 4 and some council members claim it equals 5 and vice versa, the situation here will never improve!

Huh ? What ? But didn't the mayor say a few months ago that there was $3 Million in the surplus fund and the city was in such great shape financially that he gave a 2% decrease in property taxes.

Perhaps that fund is going to be eaten up by all of the retro payments to the Police and Fire Depts. which could have been avoided if those contracts hadn't lapsed 4 years ago with no negotiations for new ones.

Stop bragging about surplus dollars mayor if you have to run to the state for help.

The Mayor King must have been lying about how great things were during the election. Just one more lie in a history of lies he has told over his life. Or is he lying about this now???

Mayor Dayton King, "There is a surplus due to my hard work as Mayor!" The Mayor is a liar and should be taken out of office. His lies have been continually recorded in the papers. Here are a few more, "My house is not up for repossession!" "YOu can park there!" "I am for the people!" Please, the lies just keep piling up. Write the governor, ask him to remove him. Find peace your city. The majority of the council would like to work with him but he is too busy getting his photo taken to prove what a good guy he is while he holds illegal meetings to keep the tax payers out of city business.
