Another dumb idea from Mr. C. Hey maybe he'll hand out these lifetime passes as graduation gifts as the "educated" criminals are released from jail.

I have to fully agree with the Leader Herald on this. Way over priced for the benefit. Senior citizens over the age of 62 can get free car access to state parks and other facilities on weekdays except for holidays (some minor restrictions do apply) by simply showing their NYS driver's license. They are also eligible for fee reductions at state operated historic sites and golf courses. It's called the Golden Park Program. $750 for a lifetime Empire Passport or occasional entry fees plus the Golden Park Program? Even spread over 15 years or more, I'm still dollars ahead by not getting the lifetime license. This is not making our state friendly for state residents.
