They never should have been hired if they were not willing to fulfill the requirements of employment. They should have the option of moving or leaving, within a few months. And, I have to winder about the integrity of people who knowingly broke a law.

I think the point that is being made is this new form of government is picking and choosing which rules and regulations they want to follow which is exactly how the old form operated. It's a joke. They tell Reese to "pick" who she wants to fill vacancies and by-pass the civil service regulations and now want to by-pass the residency regulations. Ladies and gentlemen the true 3 ring circus has arrived in Fonda.

These positions are not political in nature, and I don't think that either is commuting from Buffalo or Poughkeepsie. The spirit of the requirement is not being broken in this case.

Let them move into the county they serve or hit the road. There's always someone else who can do the jobs.
