February 4, 2014

After only a month in existence, the new form of government in Montgomery County has proven itself to be a job creator, although it’s creating taxpayer-funded county government jobs....

Eternal verity - unless placed under enormous pressure, government NEVER contracts - it always expands.

The Charter form of County Govt is not the joke. The joke, it's turning out, is the people we hired to run the County. Talk about the 'wrong' stuff....

Just when you think Montgomery County can't become any more of a joke this guy comes in and adds more to the payroll. No wonder the county workers all had his signs on their lawns. I do agree that if Reese can't do her job due to another job she just took then she should be docked pay for it. What a joke this new form of govt is so far.

No balls, two strikes Hill. Strike 1 was a closed meeting with Schumer.

The first thing Ossenfort has to realize is that MC county doesn't have the deep pockets that the state does, and apparently the bloated staff positions indicate that he has brought this bad habit with him from his days working as Amedore's chief of staff. I don't know what is more irritating, hiring a research specialist, or hiring one that lives in FC. This is NOT what the voters hoped for when they opted for a new form of county government. Strike one, Matt.

Here's some FREE Legislative Research: Is it good for the taxpayer? Yes= Proceed. No= Stop, scrap, start over to comply with 'Yes'. It's just that easy, if you remember who you're working for.

No, don't give this anything but the boot. This is NOT what we intended when we voted for a smaller County Govt and not what we need. YOU need more restraint, we didn't vote you in for a cake-walk...reconsider these positions, none of these are necessary at this time. Perhaps after we know what YOU Legislators are capable of and we see some progress on your part, but NOT before. If you believe this new form of County Govt is beyond your abilities to grasp from the beginning then get out now before any more jobs are made up for friends.

I think that they should give it a year. Maybe something will actually get done and the savings will come. Give it time.

Good Editorial, But will the general public do anything about it ? Ask questions, make them justify these positions and salaries. What has this new form of government produced so far ??

Put everyone who works for the county on a diet. That should reduce the size of government.
