All the more reason funding for mental health should be reinstated. Closing centers, throwing people out on the street and cutting funding to schools for counselors will only make this issue grow in the future. I'm sure sports is more important then our kids getting proprer mental health care and so nothing will change. People scream gun control when in fact 4 times as many people take their own lives then are murdered. Time we pay attention to those that need help, it's money well spent.

child from broken home, parents parented throught gifts and video games and allowed child to lock himself in a black painted room for hrs at a time playing by himself, father not in childs life. this child never had a chance given his mental state and the life he was given by two adults who thought having a child is going to fix their marriage and not deal with the issues in it like adults should due. now that i think about it, it sounds more like the gloversville parents i see around the town on thier iphones not paying any attention to there kids running, dirty, smelling and acting out. be a parent not their best friend

With that out of the way there seems to be a serious societal disconnect; "Adam Lanza "displayed no aggressive or threatening tendencies"". And yet "He was obsessed with violent video games and real firearms". No clues huh? Really.

How do you know usedto? Why, you read TOT's comment then took 24 hrs to think up something in response. You are becoming more inane with every post. Mental health is a key issue, you know?

The more that you study anything the more you come to realize the fact that there are things that happen and no matter what you think you know you cannot prevent it. People are complicated and most of all unpredictable. I do believe that the mental health issue is the direction to go, I do not believe that there is a single solid answer as to what will absolutely end all violence.
