Obama lied about law

January 7, 2014

As 2014 begins, many Americans will be confronted by one of President Barack Obama’s bigger lies — they will learn they cannot, in fact, stay with trusted health care professionals of their choice....

Well the American people voted him in! There is nobody to blame except those who voted him in! As the old saying goes-you made your bed and now you have to lie in it. Good job people. We are headed for world destruction

This is funny, coming from the corporate editor who can't seem to grasp the simplest of concepts, and lies and distorts facts himself.

One of the Affordable Care Act's provisions, to help fund it, is to bring the Medicare Advantage rate in line with Medicare. Medicare Advantage is managed by insurance companies and not Medicare, and costs 14% more. UnitedHealthCare and Humana are thus reducing payments to doctors and hospitals. If doctors and hospitals won't accept the lower rates, they are cut from the program.

Isn't this sort of thing exactly what conservatives want? Less government spending?

Boy it's a good thing neither Bush ever told a lie......this is just more corporate driven propaganda and the masses around here will eat it up. And most certainly TOT and her (at least) 2 other personas will be along soon to let us know the world is about to end because her candidate lost and she just can't accept that as a reality.

I've said it in about a dozen different commentaries - the worst president in my 7-plus decades. A divider rather than a uniter. I, along with 150 million other Americans, can't wait to see the turnaround in 2016. Let's hope the Republic survives with minimum damage at that point.

Obama lied? What a racist thing to say. The editor should be ashamed. Don't they realize that Obama is allowed to lie, allowed to create deficits, allowed to change laws without congressional approval, allowed to create more foodstamp recipients, less workforce participation, more poverty, less spendable income. These things are allowed. I ask one simple question: WHY?? The libs on here will completely ignore the editorial about Obama's lying and also ignore the facts about foodstaps, deficits, unemployment and botched healthcare. WHY? Only they can answer that - but they wont.

@VABOYE - I did not vote for this incompetent. The 47% and the others he paid off did. I guess as they say, to the victor goes the spoils. 2016 can't get here soon enough

So far this law has successfully raised the number of uninsured by 4 million. What a success story.

One concession the Republicans made when Obama wanted the last debt ceiling raised, was the Democrats would not ask for continued unemployment benefits in 2014. Obama is now blasting the Republicans for not extending those benefits. Then he complained about Congress for not doing enough because of their vacation time when he is actually on vacation. In one sentence he talks about how wonderful this economy is, then in a second, he cries for extended benefits because of the economy. Sort that out.

To reduce the state of the union to "Obama lied" is silly and simplistic. I'm not a particular Obama fan or a hater. The current healthcare situation has been in effect literally for only a few weeks and like every other big project that introduces change, it has big glitches. You know - sort of like NASA before they finally got it right and put men on the moon. The ACA is not going anywhere and neither is the president. Stop whining about something that has already happened, stop being divisive, and either find a way to help with the solution or stay out of the way.

I accept the reality that Obama won. I accept the reality that I cannot keep my doctor or my insurance. I do not accept your reality that I must be quiet about it. He lied and I am out of 6 thousand dollars for 2014.

Not sure if this is written by an "editor" or a "sheep herder"

You can keep your insurance, weapons of mass destruction, Iran-Contra scandal, I did not have sex with that woman, Watergate, and the Viet-Nam War; the list goes on. How did we ever survive?

Reported today on MSN radio was that West Virginia leads the nation in coal mining deaths. We all know that the corporate office is in WV and we often read editorials about "Obama's War on Coal". How about the full story, not just editorials that fit your agenda. Mines have been shut down for safety violations and perhaps the coal industry is its own worst enemy.

Dave, you still don't get it..we who are Taxed Enough Already do not accept your premise that the Govt should run 1/6th of the Economy. Govt only belongs in the Free Market as a Buyer, not a Vendor. Leave Capitalism to the Private Sector where if flourishes or fails on it's own whether you like or not. Oh yeah, you DO know that.

MrBob, are you saying that the ACA is government run health care? That would be single payer, not an insurance mandate. Do you understand the difference?

interesting factoid-West Virginia had the most coal-related deaths in the nation last year, with six. they went on to say that most of them occurred during the fake government shut down. Maybe they should have left the government landmarks unguarded (which they are most of the time) and kept the inspector working. Nah, that makes too much sense.

MrBob is on the mark - government has NO BUSINESS in business. Even the Brits are starting to see this after a generation of socialist-driven disasters. Our current miserably ideologically-run government has NO BUSINESS co-opting 1/6th of our economy. This is definitely not the basis upon which our founding fathers prepared our "freedom foundation" which propelled us to world leadership in virtually every worthwhile endeavor in 237 very short years. American people, don't blow it now!!

MrBob, you really don't have a clue about the Affordable Care Act, do you? I'm starting to believe that you think it is government run insurance. SMH.

The Unaffordable Care Act sets the rules, the insurance companies implement them. De facto the government runs it.

The president told another whopper today. He stated that extending unemployment benefits actually creates jobs. Any of you libs care to defend that one? didn't think so. He has become indefensible hasn't he? And if his recovery is so good, why is the extension necessary in the first place?
