I agree with TOT.. How many times does Northville have to vote this down? Maybe they wouldn't have to merge if Black River would pay their bills?

Has anyone considered Chartering your K-12 Schools? It does release you from some State Regs..

Please note my comments on the School Merger article under "Local News. All Northville voters should pay heed lest the "powers of special interest" obtain even more power - you do not want your educational system dictated to by State Dollars.

Not living in either of these districts, but lived in Broadalbin when the votes( I believe there were 3) were taken to combine with Perth, I can believe that as TOT says, they just keep it going until they get the merger in place. I think a lot of voters will vote their "wallets". Published articles have mentioned a tax break for Mayfield and a tax decrease for Northville. I am not sure that the 53% tax increase mentioned by ISN can be blamed on the BP merger of 1987, it may have more to do with the current administration and their desires and spending habits.

anyone in Northville that votes for this merger and it's 11.3% tax increase should first look at Broadalbin-Perth and their 53% tax increase over 3 years. I would rather see a 10% increase next year in Northville, and stay as we are!

What this truly is is yet another chance for the powers that be get another shot at what they are trying to force you to do! Is it important that you vote? Yes it sure is, will this end it if they do not get the votes that they want to merge these schools? Not on your life, they will not stop, they will not let you have your ways continue. It is what they want and it is what they will get, these delays only make them want to ram it through all the more!
