interview? For what? None of the local elementary schools ever advertise their teaching position and they already know who they will hire even before a retirement is announced. It's all politics.

Needtosleep is correct. Peruse the names of the teachers...they are all related. No one who doesn't have a connection stands a chance.

The Johnstown school district is very shady in their hiring. Many qualified candidates are often overlooked or never even looked upon in the first place. A lot of school districts are like that sadly.

Where is the evidence the three previous posters have to back up their statements? Have they been involved in the hirings? No schools use newspaper advertising anymore. They're all done online through some regional system.

These are very irresponsible postings, perhaps because they or their relatives or friends weren't offered positions? Maybe they just weren't the best candidates.

School district employment opportunities can be found on the BOCES website ... Capital District region. Several J'town postings are currently listed there.

Evidence? please its first hand knowledge that nepotism and favoritism rain supreme in public school hiring. Its a take care of our own mentality. Anyone disagreeing with that notion either works for the said district or has family members being hired in the same questionable fashion. The paper should do a story documenting the hiring process. That would be a real eye opener for the public. It will never happen though because they do not want anyone to see how that process works. A stack of applications come in with many qualified candidates and you cannot tell me that the applicants with the most experience or qualifications always make it to the top of the interview list it just doesn't happen sorry if you can't handle the truth.
