And as far as "closing" the accounts - why not simply combine them all? Oh, I forgot - it takes a government program with reliable software to effectuate this process.

I really do agree that the government waste is rampant... but to create a law that will lead to a panel that will study the problem and hire some consultants then produce facts and figures that show how effective they will be will, in the end... cost us billions. One thing that I have learned is that the government that shows up to help rarely does so without a huge pricetag and include so much pork spending that your wallet will float away!
