Bob, as a member of the "moocher/looter" class I'm missing out on you paying for my means to get on the internet. I've stupidly been using my own means to do that. Your brush paints a wide swath

Anna, the sad reality is dave and other members of the moocher/looter class fully understand what they're doing and laugh at the rest of us who let them get away with it AND pay for them to have the means to get on the internet and brag about it. On the other hand I wonder what it feels like to live in fear of your benefactors pulling the comfy cushion from under your butt and you have to suddenly rely on yourself. Dave?

Violence was the answer huh dave? During his imprisonment Mandella was offered freedom on a regular basis. All he had to do was sincerely renounce terrorism. He repeatedly refused. That's enough for me. No American President belonged at that 'ceremony'. Well, maybe obama, I'm sure he believes all those dictators and murderers were shaking HIS hand in admiration. After all, CNN infobabe Christine Amanpour enthusiastically reported that a Gospel singer was a 'wonderful opening act for obama'. Disgusting.

The UK has been more of an ally of the United States, and as a head of state, I believe Margaret Thatcher should have received more recognition than what this administration gave her, which was nothing. As to socialism, Mr. Gibson, you posted on your message board, which is public to all, you are receiving a subsidy from the Government for your reduced health care costs, which is funded by other tax payers. That, my friend, is "sharing the wealth" and is the basic tenant of socialism.

My health care went up by 500 per month to pay for others. Feels like a tax for me. I was happy before Obama Care. Now I'm $6000 less happy.

Go ahead Dave give us an example that Obama's direction is anything but a communistic ploy. And use an informed open mind, not what your liberal friend Michael Moore spews.

Taxes have raised on ever single American... EVERY ONE THAT EARNS ANY MONEY! We are well on our way to socialized medicine. They took over and regime changed TWO of our automakers to a loss of BILLIONS of dollars. Has promoted his ideas over our constitutional rights, on everything! Obama is a Marxist. And a racist as well!

Again, give me specifics. Exactly what has Obama done that is socialism? Give me details, not vague Glen Beckisms.

Here, I'll help. Obama's tax increases on the 1% is socialist because it takes more money from the wealthy and distributes it to the poor in the form of SNAP, HEAP, Medicare, and other programs for the poor.

Stuff like that.

So your mind is open to ideas huh Dave? Tell me where do YOU draw the line? What has Obama done that has not drawn us closer to socialism? so·cial·ism 'soSH??liz?m/Submit noun 1. a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. synonyms: leftism, welfarism;

Sounds a LOT like the direction we are now headed in!

Dve, IF you can't see his socialist attitude by now the Kool-Ade is affecting your eyesight past the point where you need a white cane. You need a dog , but I don't know if they have any that can type.

Sweet Geezus here it comes. Please enlighten me and tell me how Obama is a socialist. I keep asking, and I never get a clear answer.

So far as impeachment goes, it will never happen. It only happens in your tea party, Glen Beck mind. Do yourself a favor and turn off Fox News and right wing radio, and open your mind a bit.

WOW Dave, all that "what ifing"trying to make Barry look good???? He would probably like to do all that stuff but our wonderful 200+ year old Constitution prevents that. Mandela showed that one man can make a difference and your pal Barry said he would "fundamentally change America" and he is doing the best he can to make the US a socialist nation. The community organizer wants to be the dictator. It's time for an impeachment. And a big 7734 yea that the founders would have been shooting by now.

I think some of you think apartheid was segregation. It was, but it was more than that. Much more. I wonder how some of you would have handled being a black in South Africa during Apartheid?

What would you do if Obama revoked the citizenship of all white people in the US and forbade you from holding public office? Would you be angry? What if Obama then said that white people had to move to special whites-only areas? What if Obama decreed that you could only marry someone of your own race? What if Obama ruled that whites couldn't own businesses in black communities, and white workers needed to apply for special permits to work in black areas? What if whites were forbidden from buying any alcohol except for poorly made beer from state breweries?

Would you be angry? How angry? Angry enough to protest? Angry enough to take up "second amendment solutions"? Well, that was Nelson Mandela's South Africa during apartheid.

So, let me get this straight. It is not OK for Nelson Mandela to fight to end apartheid? 80% of South Africa's population was not white, yet the black majority did not have the same political, social, and economic rights as the white ruling class. In 1970, for example, the citizenship of SA's blacks was revoked. They were not permitted to hold public office.

Sometimes, violence is needed as a last resort. Apartheid would not have ended without violent protests.

Mandela's greatest was due to his policies of non-retribution after he came into power. He forgave the atrocities committed against the majority blacks by the minority whites, and hoped for forgiveness for what the ANC and others did to end it.

And while Margaret Thatcher was a great leader, she certainly wasn't of the caliber of Nelson Mandela.

I am truly amazed that our President went to Mandela's memorial service and spoke and our flags flown at half staff for ten days, we don't do this for just anyone. I compare Mandela to the two young men that set off bombs at the marathon in Boston, they both had causes they believed in and the both set bombs off in public killing many people.

I have a question for you adkkev, why is it when someone dies, anyone actually, their history is rewritten? People are already ignoring who Mandella and his truly evil wife were/are in favor of competing to bestow what I believe to be mostly undeserved accolades. Look at the whole man and if any American is bent on celebrating the life of a Communist you go right ahead, not me. RIP is all he gets. As I said kev, an example, not a model.

Actually MrBob I did not get an answer. Unless you are telling me that the South African people, all of them, were better off under apartheid. If that's your opinion, and your answer, then the question was answered by you but not the original poster. And yes, slavery still exists in many parts of the world. No doubt about that. My second question was an attempt to find out that poster's opinion about the abolition of slavery in the United States. No attempt at equivocating anything. Just trying to understand a poster's position/statement.

Do you have your answer yet Adkkev? In his younger days, Mandella sought out and embraced every socialist despot he could find. In my opinion Americans should not celebrate the life of an avowed Marxist but as you can see by the posts there are those Americans who also embrace socialism. You and others are trying to make equivocations and comparisons to the American way of life and that just does not work...there is STILL slavery in Africa that America has nothing to do with.
