JEERS to losing 10.5 BILLION DOLLARS!

The Treasury Department on Monday announced it sold the final chunk of General Motors GM +0.78% shares it held from the financial crisis. The $39 billion it received from its sale of GM stock cements a loss of about $10.5 billion for the American taxpayer.

Hey have you heard that the pot smokers are walking around smoking pot in the open all over the city of Seattle even though public use is still banned? It sounds like an environment I would raise YOUR children in!

“We need some recognition that we’re doing a service to the community. But we can’t do it for free. And we can’t do it at a loss. No other business would do that,” exclaims the president of the California Medical Association, as The Washington Examiner reports, independent insurance brokers estimate 70% of California's 104,000 licensed doctors are boycotting the exchange.

Americans who are buying insurance plans over online exchanges, under what is known as Obamacare, will have limited access to some of the nation’s leading hospitals, including two world-renowned cancer centres. Amid a drive by insurers to limit costs, the majority of insurance plans being sold on the new healthcare exchanges in New York, Texas, and California, for example, will not offer patients’ access to Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan or MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, two top cancer centers, or Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, one of the top research and teaching hospitals in the country.

JEERS to no assistance for Benghazi but a MILLION dollar sculpture for its London embassy, saying it was "a good use of our limited resources."??? Washington Times accused the diplomatic service of embarking on a September spending spree to buy $180,000 of alcohol for its embassies. I suppose they know where their priorities are... Put this on the Obama failure list.

The reduction in Fulton County property taxes is hardly something to cheer about and certainly not a "wonderful job" on the budget this year, as has beeen claimed.

The only reason for the reduction was spending money from the reserve fund. Now that the reserve fund is diminished, it will not be available for its intended purpose. The claim that the county "leaders" are doing a wonderful job is even more challenging since there are likely many people who likely believe that spending down a reserve fund to reduce the tax burden in a sinble year, without reducing the tax liability (the county's tax expenditures did not go down), is a good thing.

Hehe. Careful with that 'Light Up' meme TOT, the Word, Tobacco and Pot Police might team up to get that saying declared illegal.

Perhaps if we adopt the slogan of "We elect RINO's", Governor Cuomo will send the region more money.

CHEERS to the holiday spirit! Although early, it it good to see that good old holiday lighting in the area. I noticed that the display on Thompson Street in Broadalbin is up and running again this year. The Marching Rams host the annual holiday display, Light Up the Sky, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 through Monday, Dec. 23, at 154 Brookside Ave., Amsterdam. As well as many other homes that show off the Christmas lighting. It is going on in the area, why not "Light Up" and show some of that same spirit.
