Teachers must ‘get it’

December 2, 2013

The overwhelming majority of school teachers are well aware that while to err is human, even one mistake jeopardizing the health or safety of a child is too many....

Why would the LH change what works? There are plenty of single topic discussion forums out there if that is what you like. What some consider off-topic, mean or personal others find a compelling relevancy that interests them enough to opine. Whatever fosters conversation is ok with me.

adkgirl, it's way more fun this way, sometimes the topic is loosely followed. Sometimes a door opens along the way and ..... well..... things get off on a tangent.

This was a terrible editorial, even so, the comments should stick to the thread. L-H needs to either: disallow comments or insist they stick to the thread, or have an "open forum" as an option. Comments routinely stray from the thread and are personal and sort of mean.

Part of your problem usedto is that you really believe the Govt. should pick winners and losers rather than the Free Market. That is all any of those proposals you mentioned are pure progressive BS. By the way, the ONLY fact you managed to get in in your screed was 'S 3457 (2012) Veterans Job Corps Act'. That's it, the rest of your 'good facts' were your opinion ONLY and not real facts at all. Try to get it right once in a while, your opinions are NOT facts no matter what you think.

funny thing about all that, usedto, is that it was OK for the Dems to filibuster???? The Constitution has been weakened, and your BFF Barry is happy about that.

Where is your editorial on this headline, L-H? Teacher bashing is old, easy, and lazy.

Obstructionist! The House voted Wednesday to amend the Dodd-Frank financial reform law with the help of 36 Democrats, even though the White House has threatened to veto the bill.

Duh, I ferget... President Obama acknowledged on Thursday that he lived with his Kenyan uncle for a brief period in the 1980s while preparing to attend Harvard Law School, contradicting a statement more than a year ago that the White House had no record of the two ever meeting.

Or another Pinocchio wooden nose tale?

And the most shameful obstruction was for Republicans to filibuster the bill to promote domestic job development for the brave veterans who they sent into war, but whom they discard like so much human waste upon their return. S 3457 (2012) Veterans Job Corps Act

It would be a moral offense against humanity if Republicans could succeed year after year in blocking specific job development proposals and then have the nerve to call themselves the party of “fiscal responsibility”

No questions here either Bobbi, just facts

To expand the tax base (and provide economic relief for working people) the Democrats sought every single year to enact legislation that would provide tax breaks for specific, targeted DOMESTIC job creation, eliminate tax exemptions for off-shoring, and provide tax credits tied directly to domestic jobs created, expanding the tax base and reducing the need for remedial spending. Specifically: HR 4213 (2010) American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act S 782 (2011) Economic Development Revitalization Act S 3364 (2012) American Jobs Act, a.k.a.: “Bring Jobs Home Act.”

Each of the above was either filibustered by Senate Republicans when Dems controlled the House, or subsequently blocked by House Republicans. When examining the specific proposals in these bills, all of which were originally co-sponsored by Republicans (including some who later voted to filibuster), No Republicans have ever been found who could identify a single specific proposal they objected to.

usedto, was there a question in there? A liberal spouting someone elses lack of judgement is just too funny. Having fun with your juvenility is one thing but my idea of 'helping' liberals is to help destroy your failed ideology. It's a tough row to hoe because most liberals, like you, do not realize there is something seriously wrong with them.

Obama says we simply cannot allow Detroit to go bankrupt...

The legislature’s vote that day to approve the $160 billion restructuring, on the same day that a federal judge ruled that bankrupt Detroit may cut retirement benefits, shows the erosion of a social compact. For generations, public employees accepted modest wages for the promise of a secure retirement. The decisions, coming after efforts to curb public-employee power in states such as Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, may embolden other municipalities, leave workers more vulnerable and prompt unions to new tactics of opposition.

regarding the topic on hand..why print an editorial about one teacher's lack of good judgement? What about the teacher that took a bullet to save his kids and died? Where was that editorial? what about the teachers in Sandy Hook that saved many kids? and Bobbi, you were the first one to correct upper case, I thought that we were helping each other? Believing in angles? How could anyone not believe in angles, they're every where! So if I made some reference to you stupidly believing in angles, I apologize, because we all know that angles are needed

Truth may not need judging but the mouth that claims it to be, does..usedto. By the way, correct my english to your hearts content but nobody will ever beat your comment about me stupidly believing in angles. Let me know again when you need a reminder regarding your lack of credibility. Is that why you have not commented on the topic at hand but do seem to have a personal vendetta for TOT in most of your posts no matter the topic? If TOT is a female, are you her ex???! If that's the case (or not), you keep kicking him the 'third eye' girl, its fun to watch and you're winning.
