It's not only those two schools with parking issues. Every school in the district has parking problems, and the administrators know it. There are missing signs, no enforcement of the signs that are there, no one assigned to supervise arrival and departure times. It's a tragedy waiting to happen.

The real issues are the situations created during drop off in the AM and pick up in the PM. GHS has clearly marked lanes for drop off and thru traffic to GMS but there is always that person who thinks their time is more important than everyone else's and stops in the thru lane to drop their kid off because they don't want to wait in the proper lane. Now you have cars pulling around and between cars, all with kids crossing lanes after being dropped off. It's a minor miracle no one has gotten hit yet. Parking is not the problem - no one was ever run over by a parked car. Stop worrying about where people park and start working on student safety around moving vehicles. One person monitoring and making an example out of the few that don't follow the clearly written sign would probably do the trick.

The MS has always been an issue, so blackfrancis, you be that person who does the monitoring! Over the years, even before there were clearly marked lanes, numerous people have tried to point out to offenders "you can't park there" only to be cursed at, or hear the standard "I'm not parking, I'm standing". There were less issues at the HS BEFORE they changed the bus zone and traffic patterns. Much easier, fewer "violations" when the bus zone was back by the old gym.

It's a situation no one should have to fix, and a situation that's never going to be fixed. People can't seem to police themselves and follow the rules. There's no way to change that.
