November 12, 2013

The recent arrest of Sandra Yost for allegedly stealing more than $13,000 from the Fulton United Soccer Club should remind all of us of the need for strict scrutiny of the finances of our local......

What a novel idea! Keep an eye on your money and those who adminster it. Wouldnt it be easier to just play the blame game after it goes missing?

All the names mentioned, all the circumstances surrounding these events are the result of very ripe low hanging fruit. The cows freely amble into the orchard and get drunk on the treats. They may be stupid cows but the Orchard owner is even worse for being so careless.

I think its wrong that you have singled out an individual that has been charged but not convicted. What is the purpose. There are many other cases and names of people that were convicted of the charges that could have been used. Are you going to apologize the Yost's if the charges are not held up in court? It amazes me that you would single out one individual in something that has unfortunately become so widespread. And like the case of the EDC the members of the boards of these organizations are just as much to blame for not doing there job.

Don't forget Ralph Vanalstyne who stole more than 200,000 dollars from the DAV, VFW and American Legion.. That turd is up for parole already even after not paying the 30k he was supposed to for a reduced sentence.. Someone should ask the judge why he didn't re-sentence him ??

What has this to do with the mayor? Honestly, is it really necessary to bash this mayor for another 4 years in cyberspace? Perhaps a meeting with him in person might get more accomplished and be more civil. Good grief.

Why are you using the term "nonprofit organization" and FUSC in the same sentence? That should be the story here. Do your homework LH!

The EDC bonuses were a travesty, but that statement about 990 forms being the catalyst is just ridiculous. This organization has a board that oversees them, who should be reviewing financial statements at the very least annually, if they're competent, quarterly, and an accounting firm who should have spoken up when it happened.

This happens alot. Our own Mayor was fired from one of the many jobs he has been fired from for the misuse of petty cash. He was also kicked off a board for attempting the same thing.

This unfortunately happens all to often, hardly a month goes by that you don't hear about this type of situation in the region. In recent months funds have been misused in any number of non-profits from youth organizations to fire departments. look at the Fulton County EDC situation where 2 individuals awarded each other with millions in bonuses. Many people work hard while these thugs rip off funding for their own use.
