In a functional/competent world, casino proceeds could pay off debt...but welcome to NY, where our pols will have more money to squander.

HEY PEOPLE - the door is open. on tonights local news (check the story on 69News dot com) the "new" casinos in new Yawk already have the Sands and the one in the Poconos worried. They did mention that the first 4 are destined for "upstate" -- Don't waste time -- the iron is cooling off as I type

and when this was an issue in Pennsylvania, the locations were set by the state. Bethlehem won over Allentown and Allentown had the casino behind it. So IF in NYS it will be akin to an Oklahoma land rush, don't waste time, start figuring out who to start "dating". The dance will be soon.

Good posts, BoB that Frankie Young idea could fly, (ahhh, the good old days). But seriously, what does Fulton County have to offer?? If I read that right - where the casinos are built is up to the developers. Main St. Gloversville or the Karg's property in Johnstown would be prime locations. Are the developers also the casinos??? The Sands turned the old Beth Steel plant into a fairly successful place but I'm sure there was a courting period. The carrot is out there, now somebody just has to figure out how to get it.

Maybe call the place "Frankie Young's". Cover charge...a six pack of Genny, just like the old days.
