TOT, Hospitals have always tried to operate with as few staff as possible and they always claimed it was do to the reimbursements from the government. Hospitals are much like school districts they pay very large wage and benefits to people who do not care for the patients and then complain that they do not have enough administrative help. I know what I am talking about because I worked for a hospital for many years and also served on the union negotiating committee. So stop blaming Obama for this BS

USA today:

Hospitals, a reliable source of employment growth in the recession and its aftermath, are starting to cut thousands of jobs amid falling insurance payments and in-patient visits.

The payroll cuts are surprising because the Affordable Care Act (ACA), whose implementation took a big step forward this month, is eventually expected to provide health coverage to as many as 30 million additional Americans.

"While the rest of the U.S. economy is stabilizing or improving, health care is entering into a recession," says John Howser, assistant vice chancellor of Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Hate to jar everyone back to reality but in the golden era of Gloversville back in the day this sort of entertainment was the standard. When the bruisers left their 80hr a week mill jobs they hit the streets to hit each other. That was the traditional way things were done here. Oh yes, and alcohol was involved. :)

It is not too impressive that 40 people stood there watching, in today's culture it is not permissible to do the right thing anymore. You may get sued. I long to return to the day when men could stand up for what is right without fear of trouble from handling things the right way. Keep chipping away at our moral fiber the results are astounding!

Sorry Patriot, this cancer knows no boundaries and has infected the whole country. It is like the zombie movies where the epidemic spreads exponentially. Time to bring the stocks back along with hard labor.

It couldn't have happened in Johnstown---J'town doesn't have a culture problem. J'town has a wall around it that keeps it from being like G'ville. J'town is much much better than G'ville, too good to share problems...or services.

This fight and the "non-response" thereto speaks very poorly to the brand of sub-culture which is being allowed to fester and grow in Gloversville
