What took so long for the LH to report on this. What elected officials tried to get it registered as a historical land mark? What took so long to get this done, answer the town boards and supervisors involved just sat there and hoped that the state or county would step up and do it for nothing, the town boards and the supervisors involved were just plain lazy.

I am very sorry to see the School house raised. My mother graduated from Wheelerville and my ancestors, who first settled Caroga Lake, helped build the original school. It is unfortunate to loose parts of our history. Thank goodness for the Caroga Lake Museum and the Peck's Park Museum who try to keep our history alive.
