The "geniuses" at the DEC will continue to shoot themselves in the foot until their power is reined in by an administration which has the best interests of the people at heart rather than maintaining the power of their own little fiefdom. Fulton County, your costs and taxes are going no place but up. Is it any wonder that the population of Northampton township diminished by 10% from 2000 to 2010?

Glade to see that our local police agencies have made yet another drug raid and arrested those involved in the illegal drug trade. The police go out and do their job very well and do not forget that these raids are very dangerous for the police officers. How ever the court system needs to understand that these drug dealers need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and no more plea deals. Giving these drug dealers just a slap on the hand does nothing to really stop them. When are our legislators going to get off the dime and toughen these laws so that the plea deals are gone and then we will be able to rid our selves of the illegal drugs and dealers.

It is time for our great governor to put a stop to the DEC from their bull crap. I thought that our governor said that NY State was open for business. Well maybe he wants our state to be open for business but until he stops the DEC from their bull crap he is only driving people out of this state. In my opinion our governor is nothing more than talk and we all know that talk is cheap and it takes action to get things done when is he going to wake up and start doing what is best for all of the state?

it is time for our board of supervisors to stand up and demand the joint sewer plant board of director to make their actions public to anyone who wants to see it. But with the present supervisors I don't see this kind of thing happening until the voters of this county start electing new supervisors that want to do what is best for the entire county. This year the voters of the county have a very good chance to start changing the people on the board of supervisors because there is a very good chance to elect 8 new supervisors, but that will only happen if the registered voters get out and vote for new people. But do not hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

If you think "Smart Water" is the way the county should go Ron, you are not the man for the job.

OK where are the grammar and spelling progressives? I see some mistakes in the posts down below and someone has to tell them that they have ruined their credibility. Progressive rule #44, if you aren't in perfect harmony with spelling and grammar you cannot be taken seriously! Please be more careful and recheck what you type as progressive can understand correctly spelled words.

Smart Water Grids(smart meters), Smart Electric Grids(smart meters), Smart Communities. Someone a the Joint Sewer Board recognizes Agenda 21 when they see it trying to worm its way in. They should be congratulated, not jeered. Find out if the FC planning board had anything to do with talking your Supervisors into this garbage in the first place. Thats where Agenda 21 advocates gain a foothold in local communities. Ask some questions and you just might be surprised to find out how this got instigated in the first place. But first ask yourself; if there's such a water problem eg. over usage, need for conservation, that requires this type of SMART action in FC then why is there bottled water Mfg. going on both in FC and MC?

JEERS TO PARTISAN POLITICS! Yesterday President Obama chided republicans who want to hold up the ceiling hike over funding Obamacare by saying this:

“Congress doesn’t have a whole lot of core responsibilities,” Obama said. “One core responsibility is passing a budget, which they have not done yet. The other core responsibility that they’ve got is to pay the bills that they’ve already accrued.”

Meanwhile Senate democrats, The Democrat-controlled Senate passed its first formal budget proposal in four years early Saturday after hours of non-stop voting that started Friday evening. The non-binding plan for the 2014 budget calls for a trillion dollars in tax increases and passed 50 to 49. No Republicans voted for the bill, and four Democrats voted against it.

Now to the left this may be a true bipartisan idea as republicans did vote on this rare budget pass that they knew wouldn't fly... even if they did all voted NO!

JEERS to the liberal TV producers that think racial intolerance is a good thing! This time the TV show Law & Order: SVU has created a “Paula Deen” character that actually murders a “Trayvon Martin” character.

JEERS - to the Feds who claim that they just now noticed a billboard, erected in 1959 (54 years ago) that may have been grandfathered as legal in 1965 (48 years ago), to suddenly deem it in violation and rush into its removal.

Economics 101, your businesses are faced with a huge new financial burden what are you to do to remain competitive in todays tightly contested business world? You have to either raise your rates to your customers, lower your overhead or close your doors. Obamacare is this new expense, in any of the above solutions there is going to be a major impact on... the working taxpayers! There is no money tree that Obama can harvest to supply his spendthrift policies. Come back to the real world away from all those unread progressive policies that promise all for all and nobody pays! Maybe where liberals are born there is a magical tree but here it is on the individuals to provide for themselves!

Richard, At this point I am not convinced which way the county should go in respect to SMART WATER. How ever I do believe that the water and sewer systems should have only one entity to decide who does and does not get these services. when you have two or three municipalities that need to agree on who gets the water and sewer services and that has in the past has cost our area much valuable time in getting things done that would benefit the entire county. When a new company comes here to possibility of locating here they do not want to deal with multiple governments to get together and agree one what services they should get. Being able to deal with just one government agency to deal with things go much smoother and quicker. As I have said many times FC does not need 17 layers of government one county wide government would in my opinion benefit the entire county.

jeers to the LH. They need to get some employees who are ready and willing to do their job. Many times in the online edition there are no obits. Several times the letters to the editor are under the editorials, and on some Sundays there is nothing on the online edition. Oh well I guess no one at the LH cares enough to see that their employees do their job.

Todays liberal moment is brought to you by Ron..****plaining about something that is FREE. It fits though, FREE Enterprise, FREE will, FREEDOM of thought, religion and expression, even a FREE newspaper... if they can't control it they hate it and make absurd demands, just like you did Ron. Like I have said many times; listen to a liberal talk and they will tell you EXACTLY what they are. Thanks for swerving head on into the truth Ron.

Mr. BOB, My post is only about making people be responsible for their work. We all believe that everyone needs to be accountable for themselves. But I see that you can not understand that you just think that I am complaining about not getting something for free.

TiredOfTax, I'm always amazed at your continuing to take jabs at Obamacaer.

The law has passed. What more are you going to do about it? It's been like 2 or 3 years. Shut up with it already.

Ron1960, I find that odd, too. The Sunday only edition isn't updated. So that means we get no 'news' here between Saturday AM and Monday.

"Oh well I guess no one at the LH cares enough to see that their employees do their job."

You know what the LH should do? They should enforce their own rules!

Perhaps the LH should take that show on the road. A good first stop might be their Kentucky hedquarters, which does not seem to have gotten the proverbial memo.
