Lets talk Obamacare... “Extraordinary measures are projected to be exhausted in the middle of October,” Lew said in the letter today to House Speaker John Boehner and other lawmakers. “At that point, the United States will have reached the limit of its borrowing authority, and Treasury would be left to fund the government with only the cash we have on hand on any given day,” he said. The cash balance at that time is forecast to be about $50 billion, “insufficient to cover net expenditures for an extended period of time,” according to Lew.

Disagree all you want it does not change the facts. The sewer plant is owned by the cities and permission must be given by the cities. I do believe that the cities should give permission and ultimately there should be one government for the county and that should be the county. It is not the sewer plant manager"s call to give out information without the appropriate permission.

Pards13, I disagree with you because if we are going to get companies to locate here we need only one entity for them to deal with. The Wal-Mart supercenter was almost stopped because Gloversville and Johnstown had trouble agreeing on who should supply water and sewer service to the properties around the Wal-Mart supercenter. Their actions did delay the project for a while. This could have been very costly to the entire county and that is something this county can not afford.

drugsrus, 'barry's bff pals'? what the h-rll are you talking about? the scotus has a 5-4 republican majority.

You try to politicize a non-political issue.

And where were you when the SCOTUS rules on things in your favor during 'Barry's' term? Were they his pals then?

swizzer, there you go again "but the ACA was ruled as not being unconstitutional." - That's only because your BFF Barry's pals on the SCOTUS ruled that it was a tax. Get your facts straight - wait - never mind your mind is made up and facts won't change it

Ron- I've been away for a while, however you do realize the G'ville, J'town Sewer plant is owned by the two cities and not the county. The plant operator should refuse their request and defer the county request to the two cities. His job is on the line. The two cities should give the operator permission to give the needed data. I'm all for county consolidation however the county needs to be respectful in their requests and go to the appropriate authority.

Rs, I never said it was unconstitutional. I don't forget what I post like you do. I state MY opinions, you regurgitate somebody elses. Since you have no opinions of your own you feel it's necessary to make up what people say, invent a scenario and then accuse others of BS. Really? Don't you realize how childish and obvious that is?? You have given the impression that anything you don't agree with you've either never heard of or claim it's made up. You're too eager to insist others shut up or you try to shut down dissent not realizing that you're not at all effective and come across looking really foolish and uninformed. Meanwhile, I'll continue to laugh at you as you blindly bloviate the liberal meme.

The healthcare bill did pass, without a single vote from republicans. If it was a bill that was written well, read and discussed before it was voted on and wasn't simply a redistribution of funds, I would support it fully. It is however a mistake ridden partisan bill that is not worth the thousands of pages it is written on. Hence it needs to be repealed. A mistake is a mistake no matter how many years pass it will never be anything but a huge wasteful spending bill designed to redistribute Americans hard earned money!

Ron1960, I find that odd, too. The Sunday only edition isn't updated. So that means we get no 'news' here between Saturday AM and Monday.

"Oh well I guess no one at the LH cares enough to see that their employees do their job."

You know what the LH should do? They should enforce their own rules!

Perhaps the LH should take that show on the road. A good first stop might be their Kentucky hedquarters, which does not seem to have gotten the proverbial memo.

Mr. BOB, My post is only about making people be responsible for their work. We all believe that everyone needs to be accountable for themselves. But I see that you can not understand that you just think that I am complaining about not getting something for free.

Todays liberal moment is brought to you by Ron..****plaining about something that is FREE. It fits though, FREE Enterprise, FREE will, FREEDOM of thought, religion and expression, even a FREE newspaper... if they can't control it they hate it and make absurd demands, just like you did Ron. Like I have said many times; listen to a liberal talk and they will tell you EXACTLY what they are. Thanks for swerving head on into the truth Ron.

jeers to the LH. They need to get some employees who are ready and willing to do their job. Many times in the online edition there are no obits. Several times the letters to the editor are under the editorials, and on some Sundays there is nothing on the online edition. Oh well I guess no one at the LH cares enough to see that their employees do their job.

Richard, At this point I am not convinced which way the county should go in respect to SMART WATER. How ever I do believe that the water and sewer systems should have only one entity to decide who does and does not get these services. when you have two or three municipalities that need to agree on who gets the water and sewer services and that has in the past has cost our area much valuable time in getting things done that would benefit the entire county. When a new company comes here to possibility of locating here they do not want to deal with multiple governments to get together and agree one what services they should get. Being able to deal with just one government agency to deal with things go much smoother and quicker. As I have said many times FC does not need 17 layers of government one county wide government would in my opinion benefit the entire county.

Economics 101, your businesses are faced with a huge new financial burden what are you to do to remain competitive in todays tightly contested business world? You have to either raise your rates to your customers, lower your overhead or close your doors. Obamacare is this new expense, in any of the above solutions there is going to be a major impact on... the working taxpayers! There is no money tree that Obama can harvest to supply his spendthrift policies. Come back to the real world away from all those unread progressive policies that promise all for all and nobody pays! Maybe where liberals are born there is a magical tree but here it is on the individuals to provide for themselves!
