the area is somewhat prone to flooding so a recreational area would seem to be the way to go. There is already enough other area for industrial use still empty and there is plenty of housing available. But the editorial is right, they do need a plan

I have not read this editorial yet, but I blame Obama anyway.

Let's eliminate an industrial site that pollutes the land with cancer causing crud, makes a ton of money, then closes down and leaves a mess while hiding behind a corporate name that absolves them of all responsibility. Maybe the site should be left vacant with a plaque that reminds us of why there is an EPA.

Somebody ought to make a tannery Beam House scratch-n-sniff. It would remind some of us how Gloversville and Johnstown used to smell on a hot summer evening in the 50' and 60's. Heheh.

In true liberal fashion... just like Pelosi! lets pass it just to see all the good stuff inside, away from all the political debate.

With all of your wisdom, you need not read, merely reply with snide remarks and then sit back to enjoy the glow of your mental prowess.

Yes taxtired, rs can read every word on a bag of cheetos but I see NO evidence of mental prowess.

Hill, if your comment is slightly modified it reminds me of the Democrat Party, "Lets eliminate a political party that pollutes the land with cruddy cancerous programs, makes a ton of money, runs away from accountability then leaves a mess for others to clean up while hiding behind an ideology that absolves them of all responsibility". Works for me.

TiredOfTax, that comment was directed right at your and your other LH co-workers.

BoB: In all fairness your adaptation is universal. It fits all political parties in this grand land of ours. Gettinig back to the Karg site, I still think a plaque bearing the names of the polluters would be a fitting tribute to them.

As usual RS I can see your feeble attempt. Try harder if you think 'your and your' are being even a bit obscure in a remark!

Did the remediation team dig up or fill in the network of nasty sewer lines under Kargs? If not, well, I would not build anything there, not even a park. A Community garden is out of the question, you'd end up with 'love canal' tomatos. Maybe a large paved overflow lot for the Auto Dealerships.

Your absolutely right Hill but all things considered I think it's the Dem. Party's turn in the barrel. As for a plaque, I would hope our great Country is beyond assigning the mark of shame. On the other hand plaque makers could be doing a boat load of business these days!!
