July 17, 2013

Beside and just below the American flag at many places in our area can be seen the black and white POW/MIA banner....

MrBoB, you continue to assume the wrong thing about my stance here and then go into some anti-liberal spin.

Keep in mind I'm a strong advocate for veteran benefits that would include therapy for mental illness and of course the best physical therapy tax dollars can buy. This I have no problem with.

You know what I DO have a problem with? HOMELESS VETS! They're everywhere. On the streets, in t he cold, in the heat, in the rain, left with no option but to panhandle. And it ***** knowing that under that scruffy beard and desheveled hair, and old clothing is a brave man who has since been forgotten.

So don't give me that liberal baloney this and that crap because the issue of veteran issues has been around for DECADES before you could even dare think to pin this on the 'current administration.'

MrBoB51, I don't need to go to a VFW to do that. I know, you know, and they certainly know it to already be true. And sometimes the truth hurts, no?

Nice words about soldiers and veterans aren't enough. The rate of suicides in the armed forces is staggering. What the government saved on reducing healthcare coverage for Tricare-prime will negatively affect 170,000 veterans and save about $50 million dollars about the same cost NASA will pay to Russia to send two astronauts to the space station. The 4th of July, Independence day, of all places to cut funding to celebrate this holiday where did the money get cut; military bases. Military members are required first and foremost to fight and, if be, die for this country yet, the country obligation to care for these soldiers is a promise but not a requirement. Nothing ties a knot in my gut more then hearing a politician refer to veteran benefits as "over generous". Less then one percent serve to keep this nation free, THAT IS OVER GENEROUS!

"adkkev, yeah, when some 'Nam vets were coming back, people even spit on them for killing women, children, and babies. I can't even imagine the families the servicemen returning from Iraq have torn apart, using those guns as if they were back home playing video games"....I dare you to go to the local Legion Hall or the VFW, stand up and say that to a room full of Combat Veterans. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion.

'Ron, can you elaborate what exactly could be better for veterans? Some details.' What you claim you asked in your last post is NOT what you asked originally. Read your own posts will you and stop twisting and spinning then crapping out liberal denial and deflection when put on the spot.

kinda funny that there's all this concern about veterans now when most couldn't give a rat's behind about those of us coming back from VietNam.

Annarondac, this is true, except 'this administration' isn't soley responsible for the sequester. Mr. Speaker can also be blamed, as can the Senate.

MrBoB51, I'm not asking for proof of anything. Once again: I'm asking for specifics in differences between veterans and non-veterans. You're the one misinterpreting the question.

Without being partisan, our troops have seen cuts by this administration in pay, health benefits and currently hot meals in Afghanistan due to a sequester that only cut 2% off n INCREASE in the budget. As a volunteer for a Homefront organization, I can attest to the cut backs and it is hurting both our troops serving now and our veterans benefits. The list is long but a 1000 character limit is only scratching the surface.

Rs, do your own liberal assignments. No Veteran, including me, is interested in playing the liberal 'gimmie proof' game, you libs just deny and dismiss what you don't like or do not know about (which is mostly everything). So, is this supposed to be a revelation? Is anyone surprised there is another inefficient, inept, corrupt Govt. Agency????

drugsrus, I didn't ask you. And I'm asking if there any specifics. Your conjecture and usual drug-riddled responses aren't needed.

swizzer, are you really that stupid to need specifics on how the vets are not receiving their just due????? The short answer is that there are too many cracks in the system that many vets fall through, and too much ineptness in the employees in the system
