It’s a shame Fulton County legislators plan to end funding for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Fulton and Montgomery Counties when the year ends....

You're not going to like the answer Bill. NYS only spends 1.8% of the annual 2.3 billion on tobacco prevention programs, the rest goes into the General Fund to be used for such things as a 700k sprinkler system for a public golf course plus 24 million on a new County Jail and office bldg., both in Niagara Cnty. That's just one instance. New York States spending spree does not include useful programs like 4H.

Any of the tobacco settlement money left? If so, use it. If not, where did it go?

Agreed that this program should be continued. Just maybe the BOS should look at not giving the EDC now CRG any more money until they start producing the jobs that they are there to do and the BOS should get some backbone and go after the $3,000,000 that walker away and make this agency obey the state authority budget office rulings. We could very easily afford to fund this program if the BOS would start doing their jobs and get rid on the Board Clerk and Administrative assistant. Why do we need a non elected person to be paid that much money when that money would product much more from the 4-H.
