RS, ever since your kind adopted the name progressive, NOBODY wants anything to do that is anything that is called progressive. It just does not set right anymore!

Scarecrow57, you clearly don't understand the very specific term 'progressive' as it relates to tax structures. I certainly won't teach you.

"Scarecrow57, also, the IRS and all the others you cite have progressive tax structures; not regressive."

I guess that all depends on how you consider progressive.

Rs...Huh??? I accepted the SC decision, what makes you think otherwise? While your 1 track mind was/is on that, I was bothered by the DC Courts decision that citizens of our territory are not eligible for citizenship...while the Mexican hordes continue to invade us. Keep up will you. As far as the IRS, with a flat tax all the IRS will be receipt collectors, no agents, investigators or fork lifts to carry around the tax code.

To continue...The problem progressives have with a flat tax is that it would eliminate their 'victim class'. Everyone would be paying the exact same rate as everyone else and nobody gets anybody elses money via redistribution, THAT goes against their ideology of 'fairness' where everyone is a victim of someone else, there is no opportunity to succeed and nobody has anything except what the Gov't. deems 'fair'. You know of course, before Capitalism the only way to accumulate money, property or anything of value was to STEAL it from somebody else.

'Fla-tax' crowd. I hate it when people make that trivial mistake. Lets all play correct the troll. Now rs, grab some cheetos from your Scooby Doo lunch box, take a break while the adults have a conversation about the benefits of a Flat Tax.

Gee RS, NYS, Ca, and the federal Government all have regressive taxes and they have real serious problems. What is wrong with treating everyone fairly and equally and charging everyone the same tax rate? Why should people who make lifestyle choices to get married and/or have children pay less in taxes. If anything they should pay more as they use more.

drugsrus, I see you're finally doing your research, albeit after you made your comments.

Again, just because PA has a flat tax doesn't mean PA doesn't have revenue problems, nor does it mean PA's system is flawless. And it certainly doesn't mean IRS and local taxes don't apply.

Additionally, many people on this 'newspaper's site have moaned how it's the local taxes (city, county, state) not necessarily the fed that is 'killing' them.

swizzer a flat tax of about 3% works fairly well in Pennsylvania.

Also, it should be noted that the fake-conservative fla-tax crowd has nicely failed to mention that a flat tax from the IRS does NOT mean a-flat tax from the state or locales.

Some countries that had a flat-tax system at the federal level had combined taxes of nealry 50% when you factored in the state's or locale's tax.

But it's ok, let's continue to ignore the facts that exist.

Also, about the only people that continue to operate on the flat-tax at the federal level are former communist -stan Soviet bloc countries, and that's only because they're only JUST beginning to see their economies jump.

Scarecrow57,

'OK, RS, what is wrong with a fair tax where everyone pays the same percentage regardless of lifestyle choices? '

That's called a facet socialism. And if President Obama or the Congress ever suggested that seriously, you'd be the first in line to call them socialists.

Rs, an exaggeration is what you claim to be. You're so obsessed with everybody elses education that you fail to realize all you got from education, aside of lining the pockets of liberal teachers, was indoctrination in equal outcome. All you had to do was read Rules For Radicals. I did and I use it against 'educated' people like you, it lets me live in your head rent free as evidenced by your constant trolling of my opinions. Since you like equal outcomes so much I would think a Flat Tax would appeal to you and other progressives.
