S57 - Glad you identified your field of expertise. Mine was chemistry, a sister field, so you can see my dismay at much of the shallow thinking directed at "climate change". You will recall that Galileo was incarcerated by "low-information-solons" because of his "radical views"

Scarecrow- the opening scene of Al' movie and the sci-fi flick "Day After Tomorrow" - the one of the glacier falling into the sea- is the exact same piece of film -- computer generated. --

just a neat piece of trivia

Confiscated?? The U.S. Park Police is failing to adequately keep track of its firearms, creating an environment in which weapons are vulnerable to theft or misuse, according to a government report released Friday. Due to "a lackadaisical attitude toward firearms management" by commanders, investigators said they found "credible evidence of conditions that would allow for theft and misuse of firearms, and the ability to conceal the fact if weapons were missing."

True story. I used to believe what we were being told, until I watched Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth (aka Convenient lie). At the time I was an electrical engineer; BSEE - the BS means Bachelors of Science. As I watched it I went from believer to wait a second, that makes no sense. See like most, I watched it and thought about what was being said. As an example, he overlaid the graphs of CO2 and Temp from the ice core data. It shows correlation, not causality as he claims. So I dug deeper looking for the answers to questions Al created. As I dug and looked at the science I soon came to learn this AGW stuff is a complete fraud. Al and his buddies were using selective science to build their case. One thing I do know about chaotic systems (like the climate, weather, economy, etc) is they are very complex and one variable does not drive the system.

Bottom line, Al Gore turned me from a believer into a skeptic. I guess he didn't expect educated people to listen to his drivel

Oddly enough, the alarmist will use anomalous events like Sand, droughts, and flooding as proof of Global Warming, but when we have events like record cold spells, ,snow in Iraq, snow in Phoenix that are also anomalous events proving the opposite they discount them.

Bottom line is the AGW Alarmist only listen to that which supports their vision, they have closed minds, and they are Extremely hypocritical.

I would like to point you to some sources that you need to read with an OPEN mind.

Climatedepot . com cfact . org junkscience . com globalwarminghoax . com

Some of these actually link to other pages produced and developed by leading climatologist. Take some time to educate yourself on the issue WITH AN OPEN MIND.

DaveGibson - "Sorry, but I choose to believe climatologists. They predicted drought in the southwest and floods in the northeast. You might ask the folks flooded out in Fort Plain (again) if they believe in climate change."

Sorry Dave, you chose to believe selective Climatologist, not all of them. You only listen to the ones who support our point of view. Try listening to some of these guys, Dr. Roy Spencer, Dr. Willie Soon, Dr. Richard Lindzen, Dr. Ball (first name escapes me). Dr Roger Pielke Sr., Dr. Roger Pielke Jr. and the list goes on and on.

As for the Predictions. They predicted everything -more drought, more rain, more floods. I can predict that this summer will be wetter and drier and I will be right. They also predicted an ocean rise of 4 feet by now. They predicted less sea ice. They predicted higher global temperature. None of these things has happened. They may have been right on 25% of their predictions.

Let me put it this way. The alarmist tell us that rising CO2 levels are making the earth warmer. I point out that there are many more factors involved and it is much more complex. For example, Water Vapor accounts for 99% of the greenhouse affect. Man Kind contributes just 2.% of all CO2. The intensity of the Sun, the clouds, weather, all affect the global climate. Yet we are told it is the CO2 that does everything.

So when we point out that CO2 has risen for the last 15 years and temperature has not, they tell us the climate is very complex. DUH!!!! Morons!!!! That is what we skeptics have been saying all along!!!!!

Rs, for over a year I have been asking you to defend your precious collectivist ideology but being either unwilling or unable to, all you do is continue to troll everyone elses opinions. Have you anything of you're own to offer? Anything that hasn't already been approved, sanctioned, delineated, defined and passed out by your progressive masters? No, if you had you would then begin to understand what individualism means, but since that word is too scary and not in the progressive dictionary you will NEVER know. It's too bad you didn't go to school around here, a lot of us learned those subjects mentioned but you did not. So if you can, try to offer something compelling from time to time will you.

So Dave what is the government responsibility in those chemicals released into the Hudson? The company was GE, they followed all state and federal guidelines that were in place at the time... shouldn't that make the regulators complacent? How about Chrysler being forced to recall dangerous vehicles... they also followed to the letter the exacting federally mandated safety regulations, why is the government absolved of all wrongdoing? If you are the self proclaimed expert, governing all beneath you wielding your power over every aspect of a business, why are you not at fault in the end?

Or did you miss the part about him "fundamentally changing America" ??????

Presidential Executive Orders carry the power of law. Republican Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and GHW Bush all issued more Executive Orders than President Barack H, Obama.

Remember when Obama said that the gun issue was not over... Canadians in the High River area of Alberta – many already “irate” at not being able to return to their homes after massive flooding last week – were shocked to learn late Thursday that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have seized a “large quantity of firearms” from their evacuated houses.

RCMP Sergeant Patricia Neely said that “Firearms that were unsafely stored in plain sight were seized for safekeeping,” but Sgt. Brian Topham told the National Post that officers forced their way into many of the homes because of “urgent need.”

“We just want to make sure that all of those things are in a spot that we control, simply because of what they are,” Sgt. Topham said. “People have a significant amount of money invested in firearms … so we put them in a place that we control and that they're safe.”

Hey Dave -- How about something I just heard on the news - a major shift in the jet stream ??? Maybe if a bunch of people turn their fans on high and point them in the right direction we can move it back where it was??? We should try anything that might help.

The EPA is an over zealous beaurocracy that seems to answer to only itself. Time to disband it. Everything we do "creates pollution". Don't exhale - it produces CO2 which is causing global warming. I guess we should outlaw pregnancy because pregnant women produce more CO2 than non-pregnant ones. For a real eye opener watch a few episodes of the History Channel's "Life After People"

So Dave what are the real answers then? Do we take away the freedom to drive your car? To heat your home? To travel freely around the world? How many freedoms do we give up? How far do we let them go before it is too much? I know a lot of retired folks that cant afford the heat and their cars now with Obama's "necessarily high energy prices". How about we take away SS from them and us for the future as that isn't important. Lets subsidise illegal immigration and give them all heathcare! Its the least we can do now that they get to stay!

We would never know what was going on if it wasn't for FOX NEWS . . unfortunately too many Americans prefer to live in la la land personal comfort zones while serious problems threaten our nation. If anything is FAIR, BALANCED & TRANSPARENT, it's FOX NEWS and definitely not the tele-prompter generated Obama administration. Who is concerned enough to follow the Benghazi debacle for example? Doesn't anyone even care why NO survivors have been identified? Of course not as this cover-up is as deep as the IRS web of corrupt line-dancers.They are all protecting their perks but if you want the FACTS, just follow FOX NEWS as the other networks are too busy chasing the pop culture and shrieking about women's rights . . . that's just the lib plan, folks - who is really concerned about the economy when more & more entitlements are available for the "faithful" ???

DrugsRUs - I suppose you're opposed to the EPA? Pollution isn't man made, so why do we need all these regulations to keep our air and water clean?

Sorry, but as someone who has seen a chemical company dumping toxic waste into the Hudson River, I fully believe in pollution control, and I believe that man's activities certainly have an impact on our fragile ecosystem. And I choose to believe science over Fox News.
