Graduations this weekend will mark the end of another long school year. However, parents should try and make sure their children continue learning over the summer brea....

I'm not against a hungry child having a free meal in the morning. I'm against parents that have kids that they cannot or will not care for. While they are at it maybe they should feed the kids mind.

Little Johnny will get free breakfast and lunch over summer? That's like the teacher, Miss Crabtree, getting a paycheck over the summer and not working.

How about we get our fat kids outside and enjoy this beautiful place we live in.. Schools are fine but I learned alot hiking up gifford's gorge and the placid trail as a kid..

If the fact that little Johnny will still get fed over the summer through the free breakfast and lunch programs offered at the various schools doesn't put things in perspective as far as what our schools' responsibilities have become, then I don't know what will.

Good advice!!! Perhaps what we need to do is cut summer vacation up into 2 weeks around July 4th and 2 weeks around labor day.

'Summer does not mean they get to stop learning'....correct, that is what the school year is for. Parents, teach your children well, yourselves.
