Jeers to not enough information or a lack of a means to communicate the information to the voters in the proposed merger districts. In my opinion the merger of schools are a smokescreen, there should be no advantage as schools in the state should already be a single buyer, same price for everything schools need. When schools merge some things sure do get combined and the taxable base pays into one district but there are costs involved and I do not believe that mergers will pay off for the long term. Look at Broadalbin/Perth they have the same if not worse budget struggles as every other district. I would vote no.

Dear Tired, I agree 100%. Talked to the State Comptrollers office, and was told that the only mergers that really work are those where one of the schools shuts down! Plus the taxes in each district must be near equal, not like Mayfield-Northville where Mayfield is $8.02 higher than Northville.

RE:The election in Amsterdam. One of the most common complaints I heard was the lack of more than one location to vote. Apparently many residents thought City Hall was too far away from the outskirts of the city.

How many times are they going to shove the merger down our throats?

gville70, as usual as many times as it takes for the taxpayers to swallow it. That is the way that they do everything. Persistence!
