Apparently, federal authorities did not consider Eugene N. Cobbs to be much of a flight risk. They were wrong. Cobbs, 42, escaped from a federal corrections facility in Morgantown, W.Va., recently....

I'm scratching my head over this one. What point does this editorial serve? Does this corporate office editor think someone in charge of federal prison security is going to read it, slap his forehead with his palm, and suddenly realize he screwed up? Or does this editor just like pointing out others who screw up to compensate for his own shortcomings? Surely there was something more worthy, more thoughtful, than an escaped drug dealer. Boston? Iran? North Korea? The economy? How difficult it is to find intelligent corporate office editors?

He was non-violent felon who probably had an exemplary prison record before he absconded.

Now that he's been caught, he can finish out the remainder of his prison term and tack on another the escape and for wasting manhours in finding him.

RS I cannot explain this but this one time we agree. But Skrocki, no matter what you did to earn your stay at crowbar inn, your presence is required until they open the door and allow you to leave. No matter how good a prisoner you were before your escape.
