JEERS to yet another RUSH JOB! President Obama believes that the expected bipartisan immigration reform proposal should not receive extended scrutiny by lawmakers in committee, according to his spokesman, who said that immigration debates in past year should suffice. Carney was rejecting Rubio’s call for “regular order,” which would entail multiple hearings on the bill and provide senators with greater latitude to offer amendments to the bill. Why would they want to get this one right? Why would they want to maybe even read it to see what they have done before it is passed? Naw lets just rush through another piece of crap bill that will take years to fix!

Cheers to small business--unfortunately a union has to protect and justify its wasteful ways, Mr Antonucci. The fire department has to justify the number of derrières in the recliners in front of that big screen tv and unfortunately for you, it is at your expense.

JEERS to even more ways to control Americans!! A contingent of liberal Democrats in Congress is proposing a new federal gun control idea: mandatory liability insurance for gun owners.

When New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney introduced the legislation last month with eight other Democrats, she boasted that it is “the first bill to require liability insurance of gun buyers nationwide.”

Maloney’s “Firearm Risk Protection Act” requires gun buyers to have “a qualified liability insurance policy” before they are able to legally purchase a firearm.

Complain about your taxes and then push for another "lawn ornament" aka ladder truck! Your city "cellar savers" proved their skills in the last fire...and these morons have the nerve to bad mouth the volunteer departments----what a joke!!

How does a Nobel peace prize winner start a war? By IGNORANCE! Start 2 of them... we will see! Defend them when he starts them? See any way to avoid them??? Shall we gut our military before or after we start these wars and how can we avoid the failures of this administration from further weakening our ability to control our enemies? You show them weakness and they are going to seize the chance to show how strong they are! This will be yet another demonstration of how Obama and the democrats have failed the USA! This list is growing very long!

TiredOfTax, just so we're clear, North Korea has been an issue for the US (and a good part of the rest of the world for that matter) for a full six decades before the 'current administration.' President Obama wasn't even alive.

TiredOfTax, funny how you had/have no issue with starting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan which have cost the American taxpayers an obscene amount of money, money which we had to borrow from China in order to finance.

And so here we are years later still paying for those wars while you complain not about them, but about ones that may or may not even happen.

TiredOfTax, Jeers to yourself for only begining to openyour eyes during a presidency you have showed a vast distaste for versus opening them years ago when highly unpopular wars were begun that we could not afford and that we are still paying for.

Congress also decided it was sensible to give refunds to people who who don't pay tax's via the Tax Code. The very same tax code that gives the same 'subsidies' to Big Everything. It's becoming more and more evident that a Flat Tax would end that nonsense once and for all. A Flat Tax from penny 1 would make ALL 'Taxes' everyone pays equal.

Bob, Technically Congress gets to decide what is sensible re the oil subsidies. But I think we'd both agree on what a farce that is! Unfortunately, it's the lobbyists with the purse strings who "steer the decisions" on the subsidies, along with many other issues.

Laker, who gets to decide whats 'sensible'? That's exactly what I'm talking about and you just confirmed it when you picked 'Big Oil'. Ok, I get to pick no more subsidies for ANYONE. Make it or fail on your own...keep me, you and everybody else out of it. In Yellowstone Nat. Park there are signs detailing how, if you feed the wild animals, they will not be able to survive on their own, so the Federal Government demands you don't feed the animals. Hmmmm.

It's not a question of keeping the ones you "like", it's about keeping the ones that make sense. And re "redistributing wealth" Bob, that wasn't too successful over the last decade, as the middle class continues to shrink. I agree Scarecrow in that many subsidies should go, with big oil being the most absurd.

JEERS to upcoming wars. The current administration's mishandling of foreign affairs has us on the doorstep of war with North Korea and soon to be Iran as well. I just wonder who is to blame when this hits... can't be Obama. he never does anything wrong... he still walks on water and is just awesome... just awesome!

The “Freedom in the 50 States” study published last week by the libertarian-leaning Mercatus Center ranks New York last and California second to last. I guess you can't blame New Yorkers, do you think fish in a barrel have a clue either.

Laker. This is one conservative who in fact says we need to end ALL of those subsidies. Oil Subsides, Agriculture, Ethanol, NPR, PBS, Amtrak, et al. Let the people decide what is important to them.

I might as well add that every Sheriff in America has sworn to uphold the very same Constitution they are being told they have to break. I'm on my Sheriff's side.

That's right Laker, just as you turn a blind eye to progressives redistributing your wealth in the form of Social programs. In case you didn't know it, crap subsidies are used by both political parties to their advantage. TOT alluded to something the WH spokesman said about removing any Sheriff who does not uphold Federal (gun) Laws. Didn't the FED just spend millions on getting AZ Lawmen to IGNORE Fed. (immigration) Laws? Does this also extend to mean no more 'sanctuary cities'? Or, as with subsidies, keep the ones you like and demand getting rid of the ones you don't like.

The real reason that the minimum wage increase was adopted was for the Democrats to give their big union supports a return for their support. Big union contracts are tied to the minimum wage so for every increase, the union rank-and-file get the corresponding pay raise.

Corporate Welfare= Subsidy. Social Welfare= Subsidy. If all are ended, business's and individuals are going to have to rely on themselves. Anybody really think that's going to happen in Amerika?

So Glad I don't live in Gloversville. We have a city of 25,000 (17,000 in G'ville and 8,000 in J'town). There is no need for 2 ladder trucks in that city. Just more wasteful spending.
